I find it very difficult to give a bad review to such a cute little shop. Particularly one with salesfolk who were nothing if not gracious. But at this price point you expect the chocolates to be spectacular...and they just weren't. Way too sweet with lackluster flavor you can find much better bonbons elsewhere...and we have. That said, the mice... More

This has become our go to coffee shop when in Boston as unlike a lot of American cake places the cakes are up to European standard - not too large ,synthetic or stodgy. Great selection of delicate mainly chocolatey cakes but also other flavours. Coffee good and they also do excellent hot chocolate. Took cake selection home to daughter and... More

Went in to have coffee and pastries mid afternoon. The place has some kind of european flair to it which attracted us, so we went in expecting old fashioned good cakes (like german types of coffee cakes). The place is very welcoming and the gentleman that took our order was very friendly and knowledgeable, making proper recommendations to us (high... More

We visited this tiny place as we were walking around the area. The chocolate mice, penguins and elephants look so cute as gifts. There was a bag of chocolate covered almonds but couldn't get myself to pay $10 for it. We tried the summer spritzer and the mocha cake. The cake was good but I don't think my DH liked... More

It was a hot day so I got the iced hot chocolate. It was RICH! It tasted like melted high-quality ice cream. Wow! It was good but difficulty to finish. It was worth a try. Everything else in the shop looked just as tantalizing.

I stumbled upon this place a couple of years ago while i was visitng boston. I ordered a hot dark chocolate and a lime based pastry. The barista there recommended that i only pick the hot dark chocolate if i dont mind bittersweet taste of dark choclate and that it was really rich. And boy oh boy it did the... More

A great place for afternoon coffee (or hot chocolate, if you prefer their specialty) and as good European pastries -- e.g. Zuger Kirsch and Hazelnut-Orange cake -- as I've had in America. And as good as you usually get in Vienna or Budapest. We buy the chocolate mice as gifts when we visit families with children; the children like the... More

Best hot chocolate ever; I was able to sample several different made-to-order concentrations of hot chocolate before choosing the one I liked best, a cup of which was then prepared for me. I opted for a strong version of the house blend which consisted of dark chocolates sourced from several different places (versus a single source hot chocolate) and sweetened... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
