We would return. This place has great Puerto Rican standards with good, friendly service. We enjoyed the paella, which is NOT Spanish paella, but is a flavorful rice dish. For me the real treat was the mofongo, which goes great with the pique (Puerto Rican garlic and chili vinegar). Dessert and coffee were nice as well.

This place is awesome! We don't get authentic Puerto Rican food where we live unless we make it ourselves. This was suggested to in and it was fantastic! If you love garlic, yes you have to LOVE garlic, there are dishes for you! This is a must try but make a reservation.

We were at Vegigantes for a birthday party (16 people) and everything was excellent. The portions were large and you could feel the real Latin flavors on the food and drinks. Service was exceptional and friendly and even though we were a large group, food came basically at the same time, which is not something that is easy to find.... More

Saw this as reviewed in the Improper Bostonian and the best Puerto Rican food -- it seriously was the best Puerto Rican food I've had. Sangria was delicious, coconut shrimp to die for. I had the Mahi mahi plate - amazing. Paella - can't describe how amazing it was (saffron, perfectly cooked rice) -- RICE AND BEANS .. omg. Will... More

We took our adult son and fiance here to celebrate his 30th birthday. The food was good, the atmosphere festive, and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place for fun and casual dining experience in South End. I have eaten here many times in the past couple years and always like the paella and skirt steak.

We made early evening reservations on New Year's Eve and were very glad we did. We were seated immediately, had prompt and friendly service and enjoyed our meals tremendously. The noise level was moderate, enabling the four of us to enjoy a good conversation. Of particular note were the seafood paella, filetes de chillo and mofongo with chicken. Drinks were... More

Went here without a reservation which was my mistake, we waited a little while they have a very tiny bar but the bartender was nice and the drinks were good. Atmosphere was great as well. Some people were louder than necessary with man whom was performing, not restaurants fault. Overall it was great and we would come again.

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
