We make a point of going to The Tavern before every Red Sox game. Close to the ball park but far enough that there is no waiting line prior to the game. If you're looking for fine dinning this isn't the place for you. Cold beers and the menu was redone last year; can't go wrong with the crispy chicken... More

Good atmosphere and drinks to chat with locals and sports fans. Perfect pre-game spot before heading over to Fenway Park.

Stopped in here for a quick drink after being on the Fenway Park tour and I really enjoyed the place. It was busy with football fans on the day I was there but I found a free stool at the bar and relaxed in the vibrant atmosphere around me. I was probably the only person in the bar from England,... They have great live music here from time to time. Boston guitar legend Joe Stump plays here sometimes and it is a fun place. Lots of good beers and you can keep up to dates on the Red Sox games.

If you're in Boston for a Red Sox game, you're definitely going to want to come here afterwards! My brother and I went out for one drink, and next we know it, it was almost 2:00am!! The atmosphere in this place was really really good - the music was great, and the people were all very friendly - it doesn't... More

Was told by the hotel staff, this would be a great place to eat before a Red Sox game, they were right. Very close to Fenway Park, great service and can't beat the prices. My daughter loved the hamburger and fries.

A few blocks from the ballpark but it tends not to have the crowds as the bars directly adjacent to Fenway. Great service and prices as well! I will definitely stop here again.

My husband and I found this place while wandering around Boston before the Red Sox game. It was jam-packed, and the upstairs deck provided awesome city and Fenway Park views. We had a blast drinking a few beers before the game and meeting some new people. I highly recommend for pre-gaming!

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
