I visited the Taj today to join a group of ladies for afternoon tea. Immediately upon arriving I was cordially escorted upstairs to the French Room. Staff were all very pleasant, and the ambiance warm and inviting. Everything was dainty, well laid out and the tea was simply delectable. Well worth the experience.

We love staying at the Taj Boston Hotel(the old Ritz Carlton), but would not recommend the afternoon tea meal. Its a weekend event at about $50 per person that includes tiny finger sandwiches(really tiny) and some assorted pastries of unknown parentage. The tea is loose leaf dumped into a rather large tea pot and left to steep over an open... More

My teenager and I attended a Christmas tea at The Taj (the former Ritz Carlton) on Saturday. We had looked forward to it all fall. Unfortunately our expectations fell seriously short of reality. From beginning to end it was not good - We arrived promptly for our 3 pm reservation and proceeded to wait and wait while the very confused... More

We have tea at the Taj for a special treat or to celebrate a special occasion. It's not inexpensive if you are looking at the calories to dollars ratio, but the Taj is not about the calories or the cost -- it's about the overall experience. We go there to enjoy the beautiful decor, the impeccable service, the live music,... More

Beautiful room - breakfast is served here. I like the high ceilinged, historical ballroom. The food is delicious. Great for those on the go.

My 15 year old daughter and I enjoyed afternoon tea at the Taj very much. The service was very attentive but not at all rushed or pressuring. We ordered the "Taj Tea" which included a sandwich course and a pastry course, along with an individual pot of tea for each of us. We loved sampling all the choices. The room... More

Our group of 7 women are now going to make this a yearly tradition. As we walked into the room we knew that the beautiful ambiance was going to be the perfect spot for catching up. The sounds of a guitar playing hung in the air as we were seated at the table. After ordering our selection of tea from... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
