Being a die hard Kelly's fan I am always on the lookout for a better product which many argue ISN"T hard to find though I am a loyal fan mostly due to the quantity of lobster and the beach location. Neptune is the Hands down winner. Best in Boston by far and I have eaten at most places serving rolls.... More

When we were fist moving to Boston we stumbled upon this restaurant which was new. My husband was there on business by himself and would sit at the bar, I did the same when I was house hunting. Never a disappointment! Excellent seafood! Plus we each met such interesting people! Love love love this restaurant!

We snuck into a couple of bar spots for our oyster specific outing and took a bit of time with our cocktails to decide which of the many varieties available we'd like to eat. In the end, we had 2 dozen oysters, of a dozen different locations. We loved the Wellfleet and Katama Bay ones and didn't care much for... More

We arrived exactly at 11:30am for lunch and we sure were happy to have planned it that way. The place is very small, and parking is hard to find, but it was worth it. The line formed soon after we sat down. We had oysters, lobster roll with butter minus the roll, clam chowder, and lobster sea-weed salad. The lobster... More

This place is probably 1000SF with a bar and about 5 tables crammed in. Small doesn't exactly equal intimate when people are constantly bumping into your chair and it's so noisy. Based on other reviews, I arrived around 5PM on a Friday night to put my name on the reservation list. There is no real place to stand (there's a... More

Lobster Roll was pretty good had a lot of lobster meat ( white & claw) in it. Personally like a little more flavor, had the warm lobster w/butter sauce. Service was good, place is very small and crowded. Kind of expensive compared to some of the other lobster rolls I tried in the city.

We have been going to Neptune (whenever we're in Boston) for the last 9 years or so. When we first started going there wasn't a line, and depending on the time of day you could walk in and get a seat at the bar or a table. The oysters were excellent as was the hot buttered lobster roll. In fact... More

Employees are very rude, the wait was 30min so we waited, after an hour they told us to go walk a little more because they were very busy. Off course we left

We really wanted to visit this place based on its reputation but it took a few attempts as it is tiny, very popular and does not take reservations. My advice is go late but not too late as the kitchen closes at 9.30. All the food was excellent with the usual large portions but unlike some other places quantity does... More

Had a phenomenal meal here. We had lobster rolls, clam chowder, and clambake (with 2 pound lobster).... all fantastic. Worth the time, wait and money. This place does not take reservations and is very small so it's worth going a little early to leave your name and cell number. They'll call you when your table is almost ready. Great staff... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
