We were in heaven with amazing cocktails. Skilled bartender crafted a variety of drinks full of flavor. Frontiersman with the smoked cloves was sensational. Indonesian appetizers nothing special.

We had a great dinner last Friday at Kaki Lima's residency at Wink and Nod. After moving to Boston from The Netherlands more than six years ago the only good Indonesian food that we can get is when we make it ourselves. Now it's tempting to visit Kaki Lima every week to enjoy their food that reminds us so much... More

What works? Service: Excellent. Attentive, informed and personable. Atmosphere: All the right ingredients for a cocktail bar. Nice bar, well stocked and room for SRO. Tiered layout separates a few tables and couches. All fits well. Dark but not secretive because you can see most of the place from anywhere. Well done. Drink Menu: Great selection of cocktails and liquors... More

This place always has an interesting menu. They rotate new chefs/cuisines typically every 6 months or so. We have eaten there three times- and each time liked the food very much. They also have a fun and active bar scene. With the classics- as well as interesting cocktail choices. Every time we have been service has been excellent. Only comment... More

Scotch is a specialty here. They have more Islay on their list than most bar/restaurants entire scotch list.

I've been to a few Speak-Easy bars Boston and on a recent weekend visit dragged my friends to Wink & Nod. Cool entrance and dark lit and elegant with a mixed crowd of youngsters and matures. It all seemed electric until we ordered drinks. Giant ice cubes in extra small glasses and marginal quality was disappointing. The $60 bill for... More

We decided to go here after dinner for some after dinner cocktails. At first we weren't sure if it was for us, looking like we were the oldest people there, it was a very young crowd. We decided to order a drink anyways, unfortunately no place to sit around the bar area every seat was taken. The only other seating... More

Went here for NYE. Every 6 months they invite a new chef into the kitchen. Chef Gita cooked Nepali cuisine. Very good. The pictures don't do the food justice. Prefix menu. 75$ pp. definitely worth every bite. They don't rush you at all so plan about 2 hours for your meal. Zoey was our waitress. She was awesome and very... More

We stopped in at cocktail hour to enjoy libations. They had a nice lounge area with couches and leather chairs. Very nice decor. The drink menu was very nice and although their bourbon list was very limited our bourbon drinker found something he enjoyed. We didn't stay to eat but there seemed to be Indian inspired dishes featured on the... More

Description
Wink & Nod is a craft cocktail bar located on 3 Appleton Street in the South End of Boston. Wink & Nod runs a scratch bar, where we prepare our cordials, fresh juices and infusions in-house, from scratch, on a daily basis. Our cocktails change seasonally.

Wink & Nod operates a Culinary Incubator program, where every 6 months, we invite a new Chef to run our kitchen and experiment with dishes as bold and creative as our cocktails. With this program, Wink & Nod hopes to contribute to the development of up-and-coming Chefs by providing them with a restaurant platform in which to operate and showcase their talent.

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
