We had dinner here several times while we were in San Diego. The restaurant has 2 sides, a bar side with more small plates and a dining room. We only ate on the dining room side. The service was always good. Though not extensive, the wine list is good. After the first night, we recognized that the salads were so... More

Nice atmosphere for a nice dining experience. Formal dining room as well as another section for dining with TVs. We ate in the formal dining area. Wait staff was very attentive. We had the shrimp and crab fondue appetizer. It was very good but very rich. 4 people could easily share. My daughter had the bacon wrapped filet mignon with... More

Atmosphere is great. Food was excellent. A wide selection, all well prepared and interesting preps. Super fresh seafood. Service was prompt and professional. Loved it. Oh, wines by the glass were an interesting mix and not expensive for the quality. Had fun.

Have been coming here for nearly 50 years and little changes. Oysters fresh and tasty, drinks generous, including margarita, other seafood all good. Prices in the ballpark. Wait staff personable and efficient.

We usually go to their Del Mar location but having out of town guests we chose the Shelter Island location. Very nicely remodeled since we had last been there. The service was excellent and the menu selection was very good. I ordered the halibut plate even though I knew that halibut has been over fished and expensive. The dish was... More

Had dinner here and was not disappointed. The seafood was very fresh, clam chowder was excellent good flavor and not "fishy". Good selection of cocktails. Service was good at a time the restaurant was busy. For dessert you must have the mudslide. It's HUGE, plan to share, but it is delicious!

Excellent atmosphere, food/wine, and service. Started with a dozen of raw oysters followed with shrimp and grits and my wife had the catch of the day ... OMNOMNOM.

Really good food, nice atmosphere and friendly people. The Clam chowder is by far my favorite. I'm not local but eat here every chance I get.

We sat in the bar area which was nice and cozy with the fire burning. The calamari was different but good. We both had the fish tacos, Mahi and Brig tacos!

Thank Valarie B

A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few. Beautifully remodeled in early 2009, the Brigantine is well-known for the signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Creme Brulee. The Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats. Home to the America's Cup until 1995, Shelter Island is still the yachting center of San Diego. The Brigantine offers glimpses of this busy marina from the outdoor patio and semi-private banquet areas. The Point Loma Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, and lunch Monday-Saturday.
