Was expecting more , went with a friend at happy hour ( SAD HOUR) Very Pricey and would of had a better time at Old Town Mexican Café and a helluva lot cheaper for better food and drinks

Driving by on Rosecrans St., I saw the sign outside the restaurant that said "Pacific Mexican" cuisine. My wife and another couple decided to try it out. It was around 3 pm and there were only a few persons in the bar area. The service was prompt and courteous. We were never kept waiting or having to ask for service.... More

My boyfriend and I ate here for lunch on our vacation to San Diego. You can't really tell from outside but the decor is nice and has a rustic island feel to it. We opted to sit "outside" which is a covered outdoor space with a bright and airy view of the street. I ordered the chicken flaunts with a... More

I must say that I was very pleased with Tio Chino's service since we were hosting the John F Kennedy Mixer there. There were over a hundred people who attended and they were able to close the restaurant down for our event. The waitstaff was very professional and knowledgeable about the entrees and kept the food arriving warm and without... More

As residents of Point Loma we have driven past Tio Chino countless times. What fools we have been! We love Mexican food & Tio Chino is now our go to spot for it. Don't let the appearance fool you like it did us. This food is good, reasonable, very tasty. It took some friends from La Mesa to tell us... More

A restaurant attached to Howard Johnson hotel. Quiet inexpensive and good. Friendly staff. If staying at hotel, ask restaurant for "hotel nachos". Very good and free. Large food servings for the low price.

Guamanian / Mexican influence over the décor and food. Food was okay, nothing fancy but the price point was right for this quality of food. Honestly, if they increased the quality and did a slight remodel/upgrade, this place would be fantastic. I know locals like the way it is but business could be helped by this. Bartender was fantastic and... More
