First off there are not that many restaurants open in Manteo in January for lunch, so I really appreciate that they stay open all year. That said the food was hit or miss. My Stromboli wasn't the best but the pizza was above average as was the fries. The decor and music was pretty kitschy Italian;however, that being said it... More

Awesome food with great service. The atmosphere is romantic and very relaxing but if your not into going out they deliver to your home. The live piano music is very beautiful music.

The building was not inviting; however, we had heard that food was good Italian. Lasagna was ok, Antipasto was interesting (we had expected a salad but it was a combination of meats & cheeses without any lettuce). Service was good.

The pizza was really good, thick bottom and lots of filling. The waitress was really friendly and everything went smooth. The evening we were there (Friday) there was a pianist playing.

I am a fan of good pizza and in the past thought the pizza at La Dolce Vita when it first opened was maybe the best pizza I had ever had anywhere. My other family members agreed. Definitely not so anymore. I place high standards on the basics: crust, tomato sauce, and cheese. Other toppings can be nice additions but... More

I'm sure I've had worse dining experiences, but off hand I don't remember any. Granted it's marathon weekend so the kitchen got slammed. That doesn't excuse the really awful service. We waited 90 minutes for our food and in the first hour we saw our waitress 3 times - when we ordered, 20 minutes later when she plopped some bread... More

Just three days prior to visiting La Dolce Vita I was in southern Italy eating seafood pizza. After visiting this charming restaurant on Roanoke Island and feasting on a delicious Pescatore pizza, I'm convinced that their chef should probably go visit those Italians and teach them how it's REALLY done. The service was phenominal and we'll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our meal - wait staff served us politely and promptly. Nice small salad served with both the veal parm and chicken picata. Small pieces of bread were offered with dipping oil - dry and crunchy - no bread plate. Beer and wine only. It was o.k., but we probably will not return unless we try their pizza.

We hosted a large party of family and friends for pizza and stromboli the evening before our daughter's wedding and were extremely happy with everything. The pizza (margarita, vegetarian and pepperoni) was great as was the stromboli. The house Chianti was fabulous. The staff was very helpful in advising us on the menu. Best of all was the warm and...
