We were very disappointed in the quality and freshness of the food. The apitizers were OK, but the soup and salads were bland. The salmon was smelly and did not taste fresh. The chicken was tough and not flavorful. The beef was OK. Overall we were not very happy with the attention to the quality and taste of the food.

Three of us ate at Bar Boulud before a performance of Rusalka at the Met two nights ago. As always, the meal was a delight. My companion and our friend had a Lyonnaise Salad; the ingredients were all very fresh and the egg perfectly prepared so that both the white and the yolk when burst open permeated the entire dish... I am very happy you all took such pleasure in your meal here, and thank you for your marvelous compliments, as well as your continued patronage. I am also delighted you took advantage of, and enjoyed, that evening’s special Birichino by the glass. Thank you again for your kind words for our team, and we look forward to welcoming you... More

Chic but welcoming, comfortable but classy--excellent for light meals or a full dinner. Highly recommended.

3.5 stars. The food and wine selection are good, but nothing extraordinary. At their price point, I expected more. Service was excellent. Noise level is very high because of lots of hard surfaces. There is one loud table 20 feet away and it was so noisy that the only time I can have a conversation at my table to when... More

Thank you for your kind compliments for our food and wine, as well as for the professional service you received. However, as our goal is to serve exceptional cuisine and wine, in an enjoyable setting, I am sorry the rest of your dining experience did not meet your expectations, and understand how frustrating that can be. Please ask for me... More

For almost a decade we have visited Bar Boulud for excellent food post Opera and Ballet. All food is excellently prepared with fine flavors. The servers are both knowledgeable and excellent in their service. The wine manager understands the list well and can offer great detail on each of the wines. Over the years the wine prices have risen to... More

I had a reservation for 1 PM and was glad I did - people walking in were told there would be about an hour wait. We were seated right away and they hung up our coats. It took quite awhile to get drinks, but not so long a wait for the food. I had the pasta with duck and it... More

Dined her often... But for some reason tonight was OK. Service is impeccable, very attentive and impeccable. Escargot lacked garlic, but I've encountered this before. Possibly a NYC thing. Cassoulet was a little better than OK. It wasn't baked together with the the duck and sausages. The conponents appear to be prepared separately and spooned out. This isn't the Bar... More

Just across the street from Geffen Hall, where we had tickets for the symphony, Bar Boulud gave excellent service, fine food, and decent (for NYC) prices. The prix fixe menu, at $42.00 during Restaurant Week, was a real bargain, and there was an extensive wine list as well. I had the mushroom velouté (delicious), followed by the braised pork shank... Two of us dined here for lunch during Restaurant Week. We each had the prix fixe three course lunch for $29 each - a great deal. For the first course, one of us had the kale salad, and the other had the pate grand-mere. The kale salad was delicious and a very, very large portion, big enough to be a... More
