I ducked into this little place on a recent trip to NYC while awaiting the return of my friend from another adventure. I greatly approved of the atmosphere and music. The bar was standing room only and in true New Yorker style, I asked another couple if I could sit opposite them at their table - and they obliged. This... More

Went with some colleagues from work and really liked the place. Small little bistro tables and old fashioned bar. They may need a few more bar maids since the place does get hopping after 5. Location is great. The only negative is when you have to go to the bathroom. It's not in the bar and you need to cut... More

My wife and I visited here 3 times over this past weekend. The atmosphere is fantastic - just what you want in a small jazz club - nice and intimate. They have a good cocktail menu and service is good. The trouble was with our second visit - Saturday night. The tough part was there were two tables of obnoxious... More

I love a good rum and was very excited to find my hotel close to the Rum House. A small jazz bar vibe greets the newcomer at entry. I was lucky enough to arrive at the start of a trio set and found a seat at the bar to enjoy the scene. A couple of craft cocktails to start and... More

We were looking for a drink after a show and this was our second stop (the first was terrible). While our drinks were pricey ($20 each), they had a quality liquor selection and really good service for a Friday at 11 pm. There was live music and it was crowded but not unbearably so. In an area that serves mostly... More

Great bar, great music and nice atmosphere, went here every night of our 6 day visit to NYC, cocktails were quite decent to be fair but quite expensive.... I would however recommend the music that makes this place come alive it is simply SUPERB!! Had some great nights we won't forget here! But what really sticks in my throat is... More

Walking in is like stepping back in time to the Golden era. The best selection of rum I have seen with knowledgeable bar tenders. The place to slip into to forget about your worries.

This place is a seriously cool cocktail bar. The building itself is very in keeping with prohibition and a classic spot for a cold beer or if you're like my wife a tortuga cocktail. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and all make a mean old fashioned. I love this place and it is rightly on the best bars... More

I have been here a 4 or 5 times usually on my way to a different bar in the neighborhood. Always get caught and end up staying for a few hours each time the band is better that the last. Really some unbelievable jazz. They have music 7 nights a week and the drinks are fantastic. Anyone complaining about the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
