We have the cookbook from this restaurant so it was fun for us to go to the place where it originated. WOW- quite a place- very busy and hectic. We sat at the counter and it was fun to watch the chefs make the food- the food is almost a science - the flavors are big and everything has big... More

If your a fan of good ramen dishes this is the place. Ok so you can find cheaper ramen all over the city but this is the best by far. The vegan and the pork belly were both superb and the broths were outstanding. I've spent more money in other cities but this is the real deal. If your not... More

I recently went to 'Momofuku Noodle Bar' and was not thrilled nor disappointed. As a tourist coming through New York, I had heard much praise to this restaurant. After coming coming here, i can safely conclude that there is nothing special here especially if you are a vegetarian or have kids coming along. As they don't do booking before hand,... More

When I decided to come to the city this place was a must have for me. I'm impatient so I didn't wait one day when it was crowded, but I made it today and oh my! I had the Momofuku ramen and it was absolutely spectacular. If you're in the neighborhood I would say it's worth the wait even if... More

We had a long wait to get in, with 4 of us, for a late lunch. But it was worth it - fun beer selection, and the steamed buns are great. I had the shiitake one, and it comes with two so we shared. The noodle bowls were delicious - I would not say so out of the ordinary, but... More

Come at 5:30 to minimize the wait which will be minutes at most. People make the mistake of showing up at common dining times, which may be a 1 - 2 hour wait. Go next door to the Trattoria and order a beverage if you make this mistake. Most of us love ramen noodle bars. David Chang takes it up... More

I was slightly disappointed with this noodle place. I have heard good reviews but after trying it, I thought it wasn't anything special.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
