Simply great. I tend to be a critical reviewer but this one is all around excellent. The food was great and the environment was very good.

This is our 2nd visit and we still love the food! The polenta appetizer dish is our #1 favorite! Definitely recommend trying this!

The ambiance here is really comforting and I love the sunroof as a part of the architectural detail. The staff is very professional and the food comes out pretty quick. Wine selection is A+. Get their raw fish appetizer, it is amazing and their spaghetti is probably the best I've ever had in NY. I go here all the time... More

Met friends for dinner, everyone left really satisfied. Not because they were overstuffed from a family-style italian meal, but because we had a carefully crafted meal. Presentation is great, with waiters taking off the lids of your plates at the same moment. Staff was also pleasant and knowledgable about wine. We had the creamy polenta, scallops and short rib over... More

The decor is very nice inside. The outside of this establishment is bland but the food is extraordinary. I tried a unique pasta dish which was a beet ravioli in a poppy and pistachio light cream sauce. Wow! Different for sure but what flavor. The service is excellent. The wine selection is plentiful. Will make sure that I go back.

This place is a must visit for Italian food in the city. The pastas are probably the best part of the menu though everything was good. I recommend going family style and trying a lot of their dishes!

I have eaten here a handful of times and keep going back for the delicious food. I was here with my mother this past weekend and it certainly didn't disappoint. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, just make sure you get seated in the back of the restaurant. I sat at one of the small tables up front before and it... More

They really try hard to replicate good italian food but , as italian myself, you feel there is always that american taste touch which doesn't reflect the proper taste of the traditional italian food. Good Service, decent decor and ambience, pricey for what you get ( in line with NY though).

The food was delicious, fresh, crafted, loved by the creator and by us. We had the polenta, short ribs appetizer, followed by the traditional spaghetti (perfect) and short rib pasta (double perfect). Unfortunately, the experience began and ended with the food. We were celebrating our 5th anniversary so we decided to go into the city to really make it something... More

In May 2008, Chef Scott Conant opened Scarpetta in the Gansevoort Market Historic District. An Italian expression that means “little shoe” -- or the shape bread takes when used to soak up a dish -- Scarpetta represents the pure pleasure of savoring a meal down to the very last taste. The restaurant’s seasonally-inspired Italian dishes offer farm-fresh ingredients and clean, earthy flavors that pay homage to Conant’s heritage and time in Italy.
