We get food from here every time we're in the city, sometimes more than once. It's the only place across multiple trips that we've been to several times. You just can't beat a $5 gyro or $7 rice dish. Tastes delicious and super fresh. Worth waiting in line for it!

Cheap eats and so delicious! We were lucky and only had 2 people in line in front of us, this is not usually the case, they are very popular and easily have 20 people in line at any given time. But don't be discouraged, the line goes fairly quickly. The Gyro was fantastic as was the bowl, which is pretty... More

Beware of the Halal guys @53rd and 6th...I was there with family yesterday. I ordered Lamb and rice combo. I got a little concerned when I heard the guy who took our order telling his cooks at the cart to prepare Beef with rice. I corrected him that I dont eat beef and want lamb and he said yes..yes Lamb.... More

If you visit NYC, you MUST go get a $5 lamb Gyro. Get the white sauce, lettuce & tomatoes and mild spice for just a touch of heat.

You'll see that I previously left a review titled "The best $6.00 ever spent" so with inflation it was fitting to go back, eat and then leave another review called "The best $10.00 ever spent" Everything is still exactly as it was in terms of the experience. The chicken gyro is absolutely delicious, the portions are huge and will defeat... More

We had the gyro and the falafel. The gyro was excellent, the falafel a little dry, but everything was fresh and hot and the line wasn't bad at all. We ate at the LOVE artwork right next to it. I will reiterate what I read here before going, the hot sauce is ridiculously hot, like habanero hot, and I love... More

Open till the wee hours of the morning, this NYC street food truck serves wonderful flavorful meats and falafels on pitas and with rice. Great toppings from the "ranchy" white sauce to the redder hottest of hot sauces. Caveat emptier on the hot sauce. Best food value in all of New York between $5 and $7 per plate. A must... More

We ordered 2 combos, 1 just chicken, and 1 just beef. There was a short line when we came. Our food was prepared quickly but they got one of our orders wrong. I wanted a combo and got just chicken. I prefer the beef over the chicken. The chicken was not tasty and it was dry. The food was good... More

The Halal Guys New York is an Upper West Side mainstay, serving chicken, gyro, and falafel. I know, simple right…that is why you MUST try the Halal Guys when in New York. No matter where I am staying when in New York, I make the journey down to the Upper West Side to my favorite cart! My go to is... More

Was staying close-by and tried the food here. I had the mixed gyro over rice. Excellent. Great cheap eats, perfect for a late night feed after a few beers. Or anytime I suppose. Will be back when in town again. Go for it

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
