This place is ridiculous, service is bad, food is bad (not that I was expecting a great meal, I went there just because it was the only place open at midnight in the area). The waiter screwed up my order and I was "forced" by my boyfriend to tip him 20% because he got a free beer. My initial 10%... More

What sold the Seaport Cafe for us was its convenience. Visiting the South Street Seaport, this place is right there, so we gave it a try. It wasn’t great, and we weren’t expecting that much to being with. It’s a place where tourists (like us) go to eat because they don’t know any different, or can’t be bothered/don’t have the... More

My first visit here in 2009 was excellent and I looked forward to my return a few weeks ago. Boy was I disappointed. Standards have really fallen. Took an age to have my order taken, another age for it to arrive. The check arrived before I had finished ordering my meal. The quality and taste of the food was poor.... More

We had a speedy lunch there seated outside and fronting the pier where water taxi and ferry depart to and from Brooklyn or the financial district. The food was very good and I tasted there the best French fries potatoes I have evere eaten, especialli in NYC. the atmosphere was informal, not so friendly but we really enjoyed the location... We were pressed for time on a recent day trip to NYC and decided to try the Seaport Cafe. It is close to the NY to NJ ferry. Service was quick, the meals we had were good, and you can't beat the location! On a nice day outdoor seating fills up fast. I would eat there again, but would skip... More

We travelled with someone who had very restricting dietary needs so this place was one of the few reasonably priced eateries which she was Able to get something delicious to eat! Bravo!

Myself and two friends were seeing the NYC sites and found ourself at the South Street Seaport about lunchtime. We did not want a heavy or expensive meal. The location is great and we found the service to be friendly and prompt. We all ordered the fish and chips. While not the absolute best I've ever had... they were certainly... More

Whenever we go to NY we have lunch at Seaport Cafe at least once. we love the atmosphere and the food as not as bad as some write here. OK, this is not a Michelin Star restaurant, but the Burgers, chicken fingers and fried Calamaris are always good. also like the Margeritas. Food is served either in baskets or on... More

I should have walked out. Absolutely terrible. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had- hands down. The food was sub-par quality and taste at best. More importantly though was the terrible service. My family actually walked out after waiting almost 30 minutes for theck check. I should have followed. The tab includes a gratuity of 10 percent regardless... More

So we stumbled across this place while visiting the city last weekend, and it was nice out, so we took a table. Service was slow, and unenthused. Everything was starchy and served on plastic. The atmosphere was great though, being outside near the water, people watching. There are better options. Trust the reviews.
