Great Chinese place run by Indians. Chinese food served is excellent taste but low in quantity. Place is upscale fine dining but really expensive specially considering the portions you get. Place is always busy. Highly recommended if you can spend over $70 for two minus any liquor.

Excellent restaurant with great food in the best and busiest part of New York. We make it a point to eat here every time we visit New York. The best part here is the consistency every time we have visited Nanking. They are generally very crowded and hence would recommend a reservation specially on weekends.

We have rated this 1 star. It only gets 1 star because the building has been built with a door with an exit sign above it and this door gave us a way out of the worst eatery in New York. From the decor peeling off the wall, the wobbly tables, to the neon coloured and vile tasting food, just... More

We tried to go to Ellen's Stardust Diner but the line was crazy so we are here instead. We had six people in our party and the staff went out of their way to seat us as it is a small space. The food was average.

We ate here for lunch where the menu is $12, including soup. This is Asian fusion food. The noodles were fabulous - cooked perfectly with an amazing taste. My 2 friends were as impressed with their meals. This is a great place if you don't want to spend too much time - efficient service. It's now on my list of... More

We spent a lot of money on the theater tickets, so we didn't want to break the bank on an expensive dinner. This place was perfect. No wait, Saturday night, theater district, and pleasantly surprised by the food. Actually delicious.... everything we got! Two $98 with tip. Apps, wine, dinner etc... Perfect anniversary so far....... ready for "the book of... More

My family and I saw the lunch special sign outside and decided to go in and eat. When we asked about the lunch special we were told that they no longer doing the special even though it was posted outside and in their menu. The food was good, but we'll never eat here again because of the bait and switch... More

My friend and I ate dinner here on a Sunday night. We didn't have to wait. Our service was good, friendly and fast. My friend got won ton soup and spring rolls. I got massaman chicken curry. Our food was good. The curry was a bit different from what I've had - maybe not as authentic. But we had a... More

I usually do not eat Chinese food, but since I was in NY, I thought I would try something new. This place was terrible, from the service to the food. I ordered a specific dish that happened to be on the lunch special. The waitress returns to tell me what I ordered was not available so she hands me a... More

Welcome to the nanking restaurant to experience the
hospitality of this ancient city of China ! Nanking is a city
about equal distance from Canton and Peking. In 1842,
after nanking was captured by the British, Sir Henry pottinger signed the nanking treaty. What followed
thereafter was an era where various eating places opened
up for visitors to enjoy the hospitality of this region. The food was modified to suit the palette of the visitors to entice them to come back to these eating places. This
fusion cuisine became very popular. It is our humble endeavor at nanking Restaurant to bring you the same historical fusion taste, and hospitality from ancient China. We extend a very warm welcome to you and will make every effort to make your visit enjoyable and memorable.
