Came for breakfast. Shabby, old style. Staff friendly. On a corner, plenty of windows, good lighting. Poached eggs w/ ham on an English muffin, ok, but nothing special. Coffee good. Not a place I would repeat.

Shabby chairs, worn out tables, and horrible food. I've sent food back once in my whole life- before this dining experience. If you find yourself in the situation that we were in- poor planning, short on time, and in need of dinner before a show, choose ANYTHING but this restaurant.

Dropped in for breakfast on a snowy morning. Staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Food was nice and came quite quickly. We were provided with plenty of coffee refills. The surroundings are relaxed and informal with a good view out onto 8th Ave to take part in the art of people watching!

Found this by chance and glad we did, We ate breakfast here most mornings. The service is good and the menu covers something for everyone for breakfast. Pancakes and fruit were wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble and you do not wait long for your order. Lovely friendly staff and friendly atmosphere. Coffee was the best.

Bearing in mind this is very near touristy Times Square, this is still a nice place. We noted several locals eating here too, so that's a good sign. Service was efficient for those of us in a "theatre rush", although it could have been friendlier. Menu was nice and the food was very good. We're glad we found this place... More

Had excellent and efficient service. Food was very good. No long waits. Very attentive service. Just a short block from Marquis Theater ( Theater is inside Marriott Hotel, 3rd floor) on 46th St.

For the best tourist-trap, simple, under/overcooked diner food experience (though in a nice brasserie, like setting), Brasserie Athenee is the place! Food prep sorely lacking, overpriced. Eggs either under or over cooked, steal undercooked. french toast dry, regular toast burnt. "Fresh squeezed Orange juice" = they had to hold and squeeze the Minute Maid cap really hard to twist it... Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the egg brunch platter and the burger. Everything we had was very good. Great coffee too. We had spectacular service and want to mention Roy, who followed us out to give us my forgotten eyeglass case. Thank you Roy!

Hate to write negative review, but it really is about the food.I will begin by saying these people were working very hard from getting people to the seats, to drinks and food on the table. There were few available choices for pre-theatre food on 8th Avenue on this crazy busy Saturday night. People were lined up in the frigid cold... More

We ate breakfast and dinner there - breakfast was delicious although they were always "brewing another pot of coffee" so you often waited a good amount of time for a refill. We went back for dinner and the food was very medium - I wouldn't recommend or go back -

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
