Fresh sushi and sashimi. Thinly sliced tuna with crispy breadcrumbs toppings is good for appetizer. Lobster roll is to die for. Fried ice cream for dessert. Nice atmosphere and good service. Only drawback is it is pricey.

Returned from a 2 week "food-centric" trip to Japan in early October--this fish quality was on par. Although not much by means of decor, Sushi Sen-Nin is for all true sushi and sashimi fanatics out there. A must go if you find yourself hungry in...More

Solid value. This place is consistent and underrated. Has to be in NYC top 15 for sushi, if not higher. Maybe a 1/2 star below Gari, but you can always get into Sen-nin and its probably slightly better value. The sushi special is very good...More

We had a large combination of sushi and sashimi. The fish was wonderful--fresh, melt-in-your mouth. Service was excellent, and the decor was quite attractive. We would not have known about it if we hadn't gone with a friend who eats here frequently. It's close to...More

My favourite sushi place in NYC. Very fresh pieces of fish, inventive special rolls and lots of spicy options. Highlights are the carpaccio crunch, spicy sea bass, the special rolls (Crazy Dragon, Rainbow and Empire rolls are fantastic) and lots of standard rolls you would...More

This restaurant wasn't around yet when I used to live in this neighborhood. A bunch of us enjoyed a great dinner, service was perfect and they let us sit around and catch up for a long time. I liked the colorful banners and flags hung...More

Description
Sushi Sen-nin first opened its doors in 1997 on 34th Street, between Park and Madison. Striving to introduce and provide what was once considered unfamiliar yet quality and delicious Sushi and Sashimi to guests, Chef Matsu has for many years studied and practiced the art of Japanese culinary so as to create an authentic experience for his guests. He has along with his team succeeded in doing so for over almost two decades and continue to present his regular and new guests with only the freshest and appetizing meals within a modern Japanese influenced ambiance. The authenticity of the sushi and sashimi served can be seen in the unique variety of daily catches. Simple in presentation without all the gimmicks yet true to the Japanese spirit and core.
