I visited New York in July to attend a conference, meet friends, and walk the high line for the first time. As I exited the high line near Jane St., on a Sunday morning, I happened upon this lovely little Bistro. They had room, and...More

Bistro de la Gare is a great neighborhood find. The food flavorful and fresh. Ingredients are locally sourced. The wine list is accessible and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. The chef always comes by to check on the meal...More

We wanted to go somewhere romantic to mark our first trip to NYC. After a lot of research we found the Bistro de la Gare. It was easy to get to and nice and close to the metro. When we walked in it was near...More

The Chef here is a wonderful addition to the experience. I always feel as though I am in her kitchen and she has made something special for me. This restaurant is peaceful compared to the chaos of so many village restaurants. They have a wonderful...More

Went for brunch with another family with kids. The brunch menu is not typical fare and was very good. Had poached eggs which were cooked perfectly, over crab cakes. The crab cakes were also good, as was the bacon (it's easy to serve bad bacon...not...More

Wonderful brunch - my crabcakes were fresh & delicious. Portions were large enough for the sturdy eaters and the Mimosas were reasonable (especially for NYC.) Welcomed families, couples & groups (there were six of us.) Sit at the back table for a view of the...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
