Actually we wanted to go to the Clinton street baking company, but ended up at Remedy's - and didn't regret it! The staff is really friendly, and the food is simply amazing! Everything is fresh, you'll find anything from home made bakery to the usual all-time favorites egg and bacon in all variations :)!

Service is indifferent. Corn beef hash was poor. Yogurt, granola and fruit was ok but hard to mess up. Cheapish. Fine if nothing better open otherwise there's better about.

We ate a couple of times for breakfast when we were in NYC and really enjoyed it. Quick service, good food, attentive staff. It's a non-fussy place and that adds to the charm. Recommend.

We had a late weekend breakfast here and though it was bustling it seemed very well managed. A nice crowd of mixed people- families, singles, groups of friends, not touristy or trendy at all. Our eggs, sausage and toast were perfectly fine, but the julienned hash browns weren't cooked through. The ambience is nice with soft lighting and low key... More

Great, we all loved it. Big portions full breakfast, well prepared and for reasonable prices. Pancakes are especially nice, bagel with cheese ok, but could be better.

A friend and I enjoyed a late breakfast at a window-side table. The service was prompt and attentive. The breakfast menu was extensive and reasonably priced. our food was delivered hot and fresh. Servings were generous. We ate after the breakfast rush, so were comfortable just lingering over our coffees, talking and people watching. My son lives in the area,... More

Came here when we couldn't into the Clinton Bakery down the road and was pleasantly surprised. Very good breakfast, good choice and good service.

It's not a "craft" food place, not a hipster-nostaligic "Americana" experience, it's an actual diner, with real diner food, but updated to just be done right. Nothing fancy, but it's all tasty. A great location also, with nice big windows for watching the Lower East Side go by. The service was good, not overly unctuous, but polite and responsive. Definitely... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
