I'd given up on BBQ on NYC, but Mason Jar gets it right. You can taste the smoke in the meats and the range of sauces is good. The brisket and pulled pork are smoky and tender. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender. The sides are of the usual southern ilk, with kale instead of collards. Be warned sides are larger... More

Always go here the first week of November when I'm in town for business. Food is just ok, but Mason Jar makes up for it in other areas. Tons of TVs with all the NFL games and great service. Seems to always be a party at Mason Jar! Perfect place for traveling NFL fans.

We had brunch here on a Sunday and it was delicious. We shared an order of biscuits and sausage gravy and fried chicken on cheddar waffles. Sooo good. The chicken came out hot and moist with a wonderfully crispy coating and the cheddar waffle was a perfect compliment. The warm maple syrup a nice touch, too. The biscuits and gravy... More

Location: Right on Park ave and 30th St. Easy place to get to for lunch. Atmosphere: Good size restaurant with great spacing between tables. They also have booths for larger parties. The place was very clean. Very comfortable temperature - it was hot out and they had the A/C on. Service: Everyone was very pleasant and friendly. We had a... More

We chose this place as it's a bit off the beaten track, yet easily accessible from Times Square. I informed our server of my Celiac disease (no gluten) and she went right to the kitchen to determine what I could safely eat. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious! The mashed potatoes are GF so I had those with the pulled... More

We ate supper here. I had a very tasty bbq pork with caramelized onions and mushrooms on a texas style grilled cheese bread. I added more bbq sauce that was on the table to my sandwich. I loved the bbq sauce they serve. The food was great!

The food was great! My boyfriend's daughter wanted something that was standard breakfast food, but not on the menu and the waitress was very accommodating about it. She didn't even hesitate to tell us they could make it. My boyfriend and I both had the french toast. It was probably the best french toast I've ever had! My boyfriend's son... More

The Mason Jar is a great bar in an excellent location just south of the Times Square area. Excellent food for a bar and a great atmosphere with lots of TV's and a very attentive staff. Highly recommend it to anyone.

They say there are restaurants you seek out as destinations and those you just find by chance. This one would fall into the latter category, but what a find it was! My husband and I were a few blocks from our hotel around lunchtime and saw this restaurant's menu on a board outside. The selections looked good, so we decided... More

Found this place while passing through 30th from Park Avenue to 5th. My friend and I were looking for a quiet place to eat in the area and happened upon the Mason Jar. It was not crowded at all (we were there on a Monday night, Spring Break) and we were able to get a booth. Our waitress was very... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
