My wife and I shared a wonderful Sunday brunch here with numerous kim chee appetizers and creative entrees.

We dined at Danji based on a TimeOut New York review and we were not sorry we did! The room itself is small, book ahead as it fills quickly. Be prepared for shared tables as well. We were fortunate to time it during restaurant week and were able to sample a variety of dishes. The Quail Egg on rice with... More

My husband and I had a great dinner at Danji. It is a very small restaurant, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The Spicy Ginger Margarita was sooooo good! We ordered the tasting menu for 2. We enjoyed every dish. The "KFC" wings that I heard were recommended, did not... More

Took the signature menu for two. It was absolutely crazy, so tasty! The tofu was amazing, so were the sashimi and the black cod. I couldn't recommend enough this place!

Danji is fine. If you are in the theater district and are hankering for some homestyle Korean food, you could do a lot worse than Danji. But that's not really what you want to hear about a restaurant right? You want it to wow you, invite you to try dishes and flavors you couldn't find elsewhere. Provide the best example... More

Danji opens at 5pm and fills up quickly, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. Ordered 3 dishes from their small menu and 1 dish from the medium, which was pretty satisfying for 2 people looking for a light bite before a show. Various sources recommended the tofu w ginger scallion dressing, garlic honey wings w. sesame seeds and soy-poached... More

Excellent food and my neighborhood "go to" spot when I have family and friends visiting NYC. Small plates are great for sharing and the restaurant overall has a warm and inviting feel.

Let's start with the food, which was largely excellent - a 4-5 star meal on its own. The spicy wings were delicious, the beef bibim bap was the best I've had, and the kimchi was varied and subtly favored. The sole drawbacks were the vegetarian dumplings, which were bland and unassisted by the dull sauce that came with them, and... More

I've come to Danji twice now, both times after seeing a broadway show. Each time my experience has been excellent. Every dish I've ordered has been flavorful. Highlights include the tofu with ginger scallion dressing (which made a fan out of one of my friends who had never been too fond of tofu), the kfc chicken wings, bugolgi sliders (delicious,... More

Tried about 8 different dishes. Nothing disappointed. Tried the pancakes, cod, salad, spicy veg dumpling, rice cakes. Enjoyed it all. The only dish that we did not enjoy was the seafood stew. The French fries were not bad, but just overpriced fries. The cod was the best dish. An overall thumbs up by the group. The sashimi as a first... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
