We went here after a late dinner for a very late night drink. Definitely a young crowd. Definitely a place for beer lovers. We enjoyed a nice European wheat ale and split a huge pretzel with mustard. It was fun to sit outside and watch the activity over third Avenue. The buzz from inside is easily heard outside and lured... More

I met up with my group as we hold a monthly meeting in a different place. So I was happy to see it in Manhattan and in a beer hall! Nice atmosphere and cold beir! There was a live band and in between sets they did trivia, and our table won $25 deducted from the tab. I ordered the sausage... More

I was really excited to have a German restaurant across the street from our hotel. I envisioned most of my dinners in this brew haus. The food was hot, but over cooked and the bill for lunch (4 people) came to $121.00!!! No drinks, we had water!!!! The "hot" sauce on the wings resembled tomato paste, in taste. It was... More

6 of us, two of us got the pork chops which were paper thin and fried to the point they were inedible. One of us git a burger and it was cold. The other two said their food was hot but didn't finish it. Really a disappointment since the atmosphere was pretty awesome.

Once you reach the top of the stairs and enter the Bierhaus you are instantly swept away from the busy NYC atmosphere outside! Multiple times during our visit I did a double take when I realized I was still in the city, because of the authentic décor and atmosphere of the room. We had the opportunity to visit for lunch... Had a beer, watched basketball and listened to a coverband via polka style. Which was very amusing. They have a smoking patio on the second floor and good German food from what I saw coming out of the kitchen. Can't go wrong!

Last year we have been to the Bierhaus NYC to have some good german food and beer. the Service was very friendly and the dishes tasted good. And of course you have to try the good Hofbräuhaus Bier. In the venening there is also a little band who plays german songs.

Went with friends on a Sunday when it was pretty empty and saw that this place definitely caters to the post college crowd with beer specials and limited food options. Not bad yet not memorable for sure but if you need a spacious midtown option this is a good spot.

I go to this place very often for lunch and to have very good German wurst and the famous HB dunkel bier. However, the environment is very disappointing because it has nothing to do with a nice traditional German restaurant. The last time I went there for lunch they were playing awful noicy heavy metal music, causing a very uncomfortable... More

Gerardo, we love offering an authentic German experience here in New York, and it's always great to hear from guests who have been to the original. That said, we do some things our own way, putting a NYC twist on it, but we do have live German music as well. Please check out our website for a schedule of events... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
