About
In the heart of a big city, driven by progress, Heritage Grand Bakery turns to tradition, offering New Yorkers a bread baked for a better future. Heritage Grand Bakery values quality, health and tradition. The concept was born from the expression "you are what you eat". Natural, artisanal foods nourish our minds and bodies, energize our spirit and connect us all to each other and our planet. We celebrate the simple joy of eating what is truly good. Our Heritage grains are healthier because we practice time-honored methods of milling flour without chemical additives. This tradition, and technique, using unadulterated ingredients, retains more nutrients, and does not deposit unsafe chemicals into our environment. Ancestral bread-making techniques allow the heart of the grain to develop life under the effects of the sourdough and fermentation, thus allowing the dough and bread to grow like all living organisms.

This place is beyond classic- a real French bakery, everything made on site - the evidence in the sacks of flour stack up! The selection is awesome ( and I don't throw this word around ) They have kougin amman not often found and this one is authentic as if from Brittainy! The chocolate decadence lives up to its name

We stopped in here to look for sandwiches to eat for lunch in nearby Bryant Park, essentially right across the street and next to the New York Public Library. We left with two Caprese sandwiches, two cookies, one Pistachio Financier, and two hot drinks. The sandwiches were very good, on _excellent_ baguettes. The financier was also very good, and the chocolate walnut cookie was excellent ... especially because it wasn't too sweet; it was sweet enough, but most bakery cookies in NYC are sickeningly sweet, and this and the oatmeal raisin cookie we also bought was not. So 6 stars+ for the chocolate walnut cookie. But _above all_, the staff were friendly, helpful, and delightful to be served by: viz, Ella C., and Aidan. Give these people a raise! Could not rate this bakery highly enough.

Lovely place for great diner. The food was delicious and good to share. We ordered a pizza and a salad and that was more than enough for the two of us. The vibe is very cozy and informal and the people were very friendly. A next time in NYC, I would go here again. I can also recommend to pick up a bagel and a coffee for breakfast in the morning, and to enjoy that in the Bryant Park that is just opposite of the location.

New restaurant in an old place near the Bryant Park Hotel on 40th street between 5th and 6th avenues. Excellent staff, terrific baked goods, and premade sandwiches. Very quick service plus the use of stools to sit on in the back of the shop to have your drink and snack. A solid surprise to find this place open on Saturday morning of Thanksgiving weekend. Highly recommend. You might see a line in the store to order but it moves quickly and is well worth it. Give it a try!

I bought a pistachio cruffin and sat in Bryant Park one morning which was lovely and peaceful. The cruffin was amazing and the pistachio cream inside was the best I have ever tasted. Lovely and helpful staff as well.

Pastry shop right across from Bryant Park. All delicious. Good hot chocolate, but they could improve it. Fresh and very varied cakes. Varied and very good sandwiches and snacks. We liked it very much. We repeat. Next door they have a pizzeria and restaurant that looks very good and has good prices, although we didn't try it.

This bakery was my favorite of all we visited while in NYC. The cinnamon rolls were out of this world, the service was fantastic, and the bakery itself was adorable and functional!

This is a true oasis of tranquility and friendliness for a top quality breakfast. Skip the noisy bagel joints and overload of choices in buns and toppings. Here you find excellent sandwiches and coffee.

Well above my expectations. The decoration is nice and harmonious and little details here and there embrace you in a nice atmosphere. I asked for the pizza diavolo and it was one of the best I have had ever. Service was super friendly. Small wine list but with nice options.

The pastries were so good! Best croissants outside of France. The Ispahan is so special- macarons with fresh raspberries and lychee rose creme, just heavenly, and not overly sweet. The olive oil cake is velvety and the espresso tart rich. We were so impressed we brought home a loaf of olive bread upon suggestion of the staff. So glad we did because it is the best olive bread we've had! Packed full of olives and so dense, a loaf probably weighs 5 pounds! I read about their ingredients and baking process online. Great quality at a very reasonable price.

Delicious breakfast—avocado toast. Good service. Pastries also fantastic. We stopped at the bakery next door for yummy sandwiches for later.

We were in a hurry so I grabbed a pizza sandwich. It tasted great. My daughter grabbed the Montebello and Espresso Tart and loved both of them. It's pricey but we enjoyed the food.

We were in the City for an early evening event. We'd been wandering through Bryant Park, and the food stalls gave us an appetite, so we decided on an early dinner. The location used to be another restaurant, one we used to frequent, so we thought we'd try the new place. First impressions were good - nice decor, welcoming atmosphere, that sort of thing. As an added bonus, we had arrived during happy hour, when certain wines, and all of the pizzas, were $10. We chose to share an appetizer - Arrosticini Abruzzesi. - basically a lamb kebab. There were four very small kebabs in the serving, but it was enough for the two of us. Quite tasty. For the entrée, my wife chose Branzino, which was OK, although the green beans had clearly been frozen; I went for a clam pizza (Clam Pie) which was $10, as advertised, rather than the usual $27. It was a standard 10" individual pizza. The price was right, but alas the pizza was not. It was basically tasteless - I squeezed a small amount of lemon on it, and the only discernable taste was lemon. Rather a shame - if you want to sell pizza in the City, be aware that you have some serious competition, even at $10. The wines were perfectly acceptable. Next time, we'll try the food stalls in Bryant Park.
