Great place we found for dinner. Quaint bar and nice dining area with open windows and view to the street. Reasonable prices on food and wine with nice bistro selections. Locally obtained produce and ingredients for the food. Staff was very friendly and gracious to...More

Had brunch there recently. Menu is limited but sufficient choices. Food was good, not great. Service was awful. There was 1 waiter for the room we were in and he spent his time chatting at a table rather than actually providing any level of service....More

Love the vibe at this West Village restaurant. The menu is short, but everything is carefully prepared. The endive Caesar salad is a winner and the roast chicken is always good. Service is friendly and efficient. Can be noisy if you hit a popular time.

Left Bank is a bit off the beaten track in the West Village. It appears to cater largely to locals. We think it's terrific. It's not jammed, so it's relaxing and almost pub-like without being a pub. Excellent and creative cooking - very seasonal. Outstanding...More

Went here for dinner with friends recently. After a poor start from a service perspective, we began with cocktails. Although their cocktails are small in size and average around $15 each (!), they were tasty. But that was the best thing about our dinner. The...More

This popular restaurant prides itself on well presented good food and more traditional fare than many trendy places in NY. Not as 'packed in' as many bistros in the area and with attentive and un-rushed service it made for a pleasant evening. Although eating out...More

This is my neighborhood go-to. The food is always spot on, so I never hesitate to recommend it when we have friends in town visiting. The menu changes seasonally and the wine list is constantly updated as well. Prices are very reasonable and I love...More

We've been to the Left Bank twice. Once at 5:30 PM which was fine, quiet and the chicken was excellent moist, memorable as were the vegetable and the rest. So we made a reservation with friends for 8PM a few weeks later. A big mistake....More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

Left Bank is at its core a New York bistro, inspired by Greenwich Village itself, and influenced by European sensibilities. From our landmarked building in Manhattan's historic district, large bay windows on both sides reflect our open-book, unpretentious style of cooking and service. Our food is inspired by our local farmers, recipes of days gone by, and the relationships we have with our guests. Left Bank continues to evolve with an entrepreneurial spirit and a sincere desire to serve simple, wholesome, delicious food and drink to New Yorkers and passersby.
