Stopped in Underdog downstairs for a delayed Valentine's Day celebration. On a night when everywhere else was absolutely packed to where we could barely walk, we managed to get seats at the bar here, so here we stayed. To get to Underdog, you just walk into The Growler and head right downstairs. Service was friendly, welcoming, and acknowledged us right... More

My friend and I strolled in here on a Sunday. It was dark and empty. We sat at the bar and waited a pretty long time before anyone acknowledged us. We actually had to move from one end of the bar to the other to seek attention. Had a drink off their drink menu and then discovered unlimited Bloody Mary... More

Went there last week with a group of friends from work. The place is in a great, historic street (Stone St) that transports you back to what I imagine 18th century Amsterdam would look like. We were offered a seat at the Underdog, which was perfect for us since it is a quiter area than the main floor. We were... More

We live a few blocks from Stone Street. The Growler is one of the many bars/restaurant s that line this mini restaurant row. Good pub grub and drinks(especially beers). My wife's favorite to eat is the Duck Cubano sandwich while mine is the lamb burger. Beer menu changes constantly. Friendly bartenders and great music selection make this our fave spot... More

We were touring around the financial district and stopped in for lunch. Stone Street has great history ambiance and The Growler fits it perfectly. The street looks right out of Harry Potter and the restaurant/bar has a dark Irish Tavern look about it. They had a phenomenal Bloody Mary bar and the food we had was excellent. They also have... I really liked this bar. I was on a bit of pub crawl with an old friend and we ducked in here for a drink and ended up having 3 or 4. The staff was really friendly and was forthright with tap choices. They have a great selection of beers on tap. I assume they are busy on the week... More

One of a few brick built bars and restaurants in this historic area that have been sympathetically refurbished reflecting their former glory. Great atmosphere - try the local beers (especially the pumpkin beer!) and cocktails. There is a fascinating array of pickles and snacks available at the bar. Friendly bar staff, live music in a great location.
