This was one of the best meals I've had in my life. Went with my girlfriend and two weeks later we're still talking about it. Our server was Luis and he was phenomenal - so attentive, friendly, and fun. The meatballs and homemade mozzarella were unbelievable. Can't remember the exact pasta we had but it was delicious -- I'm sure... More

Carbone was a great experience but there were a few blemishes that prevents me from saying it was perfect. The restaurant has a very quaint European feel and the maitre de and hostesses are polite and professional. We had a drink at the small bar while our table was being prepared(we were very early) and as soon as we were... More

How to begin? After 46 years, my husband and I know what makes for a romantic and delicious celebratory meal. Carbone did not deliver! Noisy, loud music blaring, over-bearing waiter, tables too close together, overpriced, cold wind blowing in the restaurant each time the door was opened, very small portions of overly-salted fettuccini funghi, a "tiramisu" that was a dry... We had a 9pm reservation. The place was full and we ate in the back section. The wine selections were great and the food amazing. The whole place broke out in singing New York New York, it was a fun night and got to set by a celebrity. Amazing evening!

Lets just say the food was excellent and the service was friendly and informative.I can go on about how the veal was excellent which my wife said she's had better tasting and the seasonings was off. Well i thought it was excellent anyway. We ordered from soup to nuts. The bill we will get to at the end. We also... More

Came here a while back with my sister and a friend. I was excited as I had not been and she always raves about how good the food is - so it is safe to say, I was very excited. This old school, mafia-esque Italian restaurant serves up all the classics and you get a big individual hunk of parmesan... More

The food was great, the vib was alive and the service exceptional. Sal (who has been there since they opened) was the most attentive and entertaining waiter we've seen in years. A great place to celebrate.

We returned for the veal parm and the excitement of authentic 1950's food experience. What we got was a rushed, brusk staff mostly eager to sell specials, quickly cycle the courses and food badly done. The veal was over fried and salty as hell, entirely unrelated - in its prep and presentation - to our luscious first experience a year... More

Carbone was delicious! The vibe is amazing; old-school mafia style restaurant, with an amazing menu and portions. The drinks are great and the carrot cake is delicious. I've eaten at Babbo as well, and Carbone beats Babbo any day. I celebrate my birthday here and it did not disappoint.

Have to be honest, with the hype, and the way you have to make reservations, I was ready to say forget it. There are plenty of great Italian restaurants in NYC, why waste time and energy trying to get into this one. Now I know...it's because it's phenomenal. From the moment you walk into the old-world room, with a host... More
