Went here with the family twice whilst staying on E57st, found it by accident but so glad we did! The burgers are the tastiest we had in NY, I have been home two weeks and want another one!! The fries are also easily the best we tasted. The ambience is exactly what we wanted from a New York burger bar,... More

So after yoga, we crossed the street for a hormone free burger. Delicious! Please note that if you are looking for a 1/4lb burger, order a double. Everything is 1950 sized. The fries were great, the onion rings greasy and the sweet potato fries hard. The ice cream cups were not frozen but more like a chilled mousse. I would... More

The food was nothing special but adequate. I waited 10 minutes to place my order in an empty restaurant while the girl took a phone order and everyone else stood around doing nothing. They don't have the Thea's Iced Tea that is on their menu. The tables were dirty because no one cleans them after people leave. We cleaned our... More

The burger is delicious! We especially loved the burger sauce with black pepper flavor! Highly reccomended. Self service but very fast.

Simple menu, simple product. Delicious burger, great fries, even the ketchup seemed thicker with better flavor. Would easily eat here over any of the major chains including Five Guys or Red Robin etc. Try the root beer BBQ sauce.

we got here by chance ... it was raining, we were all hungry and it seemed a nice place. Out kids were looking for something simple that could be ready to be eaten as fast as possible, and we do not like the usual MD/BK/etc so this seemed a great choice. We were not dissapointed at all, plenty of choices,... More

This place was great. Right on Lexington Ave and 54th. Their claim to fame is using fresh ground hamburger meat to make their hamburgers. Well I tell you they are really good. Top it off with a milkshake and your going to be happy. Good atmosphere but crowed during the day.

I wouldn't rate a fast food place normally, but Clarke's really set a new standard. Best classic burgers at low cost. Nice service. Love the outdoor area (not part of Clarke's, but publicly available) - so for basic burger fare this is the place!

Food was good. Fries were especially good, and so were the milkshakes. We ate here twice on our vacation. Quick and convenient. Not much seating.

I'm not really sure what my general feeling on this place. The burger is good, but a bit on the small and greasy side. In the crowded world of burger places in NYC this place falls a bit short. There are better options in the area.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
