Always good food. Service is fast, food brought to your table quickly. Some times the appetizers come out the same time as the main course. Try the spring rolls.

Summer Rolls, Chicken noodle soup, Beef and broccoli in Oyster sauce. $30 with tip. Somewhere between average and very good, food nice, service good. Absolutely fine for a quick lunch in China town. 3-5 mins walk from Subway.

I would be lying if I remember eating at this restaurant, other than to say that I remember the decor as being basic, the menu varied and what you would want from a Vietnamese restaurant that was not "fine dining". I have a vague recollection that the service was attentive and the food good and tasty. The restaurant was not... More

Visited as staying near-by and looking for somewhere in China Town. Thai Son had a good menu with really tasty food. Service was quick as was turnover of diners so don't come expecting fine dining but you will get generous portions of really falvoursome foods

My wife and I chose Thai Son on a recent visit to the Chinatown area of NYC. Someone greeted us at the entrance, seated us and a wait person promptly took our drink and good orders. While waiting, I found the restaurant clean and the staff orderly. The spring rolls came out first with fresh veggies and generous shrimp bits.... More

I was so surprised at how cheap and good the food was here. There was 5 of us that had a very varied selection of food, from veggie to full on meat eaters. My veggie noodles with a mix of vegetables spices was probably one of the best Ive ever eaten. The portion size was very large and I couldn't... More

We found this restaurant in Chinatown and wanted to give it a try after a long day of visiting NY. The first thing I noticed: The glasss of water we ware given had a strong taste of chlorine. After we have ordered the food was served just after a short while. In contrast to the chlorine-drink, I was satisfied with... More

This is by far the best restaurant in Chinatown with low prices. Their prices are just ridiculous because they are too low and the food is too good. The waiters are very kind and friendly. Some of them are bilinguals. Their spring rolls are! You gotta try them out.

This restaurant was a great disappointment. While the spring rolls that I had were excellent, the beef and broccoli dish was just bad - the beef was chewy and tasteless, the oyster sauce could hardly be felt, and the entire dish was just not tasty. The waitress was completely indifferent and service was slow. Will not return..

Very pleased with this nice, traditional Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. I was looking to go to another place in the area, which closed early for some reason. Needless to say, I found a great second option.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
