When I think Brazilian food I often think of barbecued steak. They do steaks here too- the steak with crab meat and shrimp is delectable - but also fantastic seafood (the paella cooked in squid ink is phenomenal!)! Excellent beers on tap, banana fritters so...More

Dear Jessica, Wow! Thank you for the "incredible" review and 5*rating. You are right, most people think of the barbecued meats on skewers when they think of Brazillian cuisine. Brasil's cuisine is vast with African and Portuguese influence. So glad to see you tried the...More

Food choices were authentic Portuguese with a wide variety. Food was delicious and plentiful. Atmosphere and ambiance were warm and welcoming, and the service was also very good. Was a little surprised that the drink list wasn't more extensive, but what they had was really...More

I don't know what the hype is about. This place had average food at best. We ordered the paella and it was hard, undercooked and not flavourful. The other dish we got was better, but overall not worth the price

We were on the first day on the trip traveling the east side of U.S. We ordered 2 dishes, one was a black been & rice, the other was a calamari dish. We enjoyed all of the dishes and we would definitely go there again.

Ipanema has great location, updated decor and good food. I'd they made some adjusted this could be an excellent choice for Brazilian cuisine. The Mariacada--basically an assorted shellfish soup is a huge granite bowl. The fish is properly cooked and not over done. But the...More

In the heart of Little Brazil street is the famous Ipanema Restaurant, considered to be the best Brazilian restaurant in all of New York City. Ipanema offers a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere complemented by the authentic cuisine our chef has perfected over the past 30 years. While the name Ipanema refers to the famous beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil our menu is firmly rooted in the culinary crossover between both Brazil and Portugal. Ipanema's menu combines the timeless history of Portuguese recipes with the zest and vibrancy of Brazilian cuisine, resulting in a one-of-a-kind dining experience. At Ipanema you can immerse yourself in a true Brazilian-Portuguese experience with famous dishes including: Feijoada, Vatapá, Pão de Queijo, Bacalhau Assado, Bitoque Mariscada, and more.
