I've been to New York 3 times now and i always visit Virgils. The food is amazing , loved the beef brisket and pulled pork , my girlfriend also recommends the house coleslaw. It does get busy so booking ( i used open table - so easy to do on your phone ) is advisable. The staff are great -... More

I took the mixed combo, waiter said that is enough for 1 person. Believe me it's more than enough for 2 adults. Great side dishes too, fresh fried potatoes, coleslaw. They lost my doggy bad but they offered another dish to compensate. Great value for money and excellent food and service.

Virgil's is the same bar-restaurant that I remember from 20 years ago. Always a fun place to have a few beers and some tasty food. My family enjoyed our meal, and the service was ok. The restaurant is a litte "rustic", and seems a little worn, but that did not really affect our experience. The food was plentiful and the... More

After living in New York for four years, this is one of our local haunts that we still miss and talk about. Virgil' is a bustling, no-frills darned good barbecue haven for those of us who love eating great bbq with sticky fingers! Their chicken wings are to die for (tangy and delicious like nowhere else!), and I really recommend... More

We went there with the family for lunch and overall have an excellent experience. The pulled pork was great and so were the ribs. A nice atmosphere not overly noisy and the service was excellent. If you're in the city and you're looking for barbecue it's definitely a place to go.

This is a stereo typical typical American restaurant when it comes to portion size and the type of food. In time square , serves burgers and all sorts of fried food. Food was nice service was good. I personally wouldn't eat here more than once during a trip. Lots of seating , friendly staff and would recommend for a lunch... More

Meals were enormous and not really anything special. We were a bit disappointed and wouldn't go back there again.

Our first time in New York and Virgil's was recommended to us by a friend back home. So glad he did! Absolutely loved it. Had the Pig Out special for two on one night... Was enough food for three people and all cooked / tasted amazing. Second night I had the Kansas Fried Chicken & my boyfriend had the baby... More

Our family of five arrived for dinner about 5:00pm on a Saturday and our wait was only about 15 minutes. The food is good and the staff know their stuff. The tables are close together and it's loud, so the focus is food and fun close to Times Square. This is not the place if you want a quiet, private,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
