Very rusitc inside. The food is good and you won't be disappointed, but it is not the best mexicam I have had. Next time, I think I will try one of the other options.

After the snow storm, we went looking for a nice place to grab a quick bite and El Azteca was open. Orlando received us and treated us very nice. He was very accommodating with my food intolerance needs. Guacamole was great, so were the Tacos al carbon. The tomatillo sauce was really nice, mild but with flavor. The chicken noodles... More

This is the third time we have gone there after a day in midtown Manhattan. The staff is wonderful, the food and drinks are delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. Spicy mango margaritas are the best. A big bowl of chili with a side of rice was perfect for a cold snowy night. They are very kid friendly.

Everyone here was so friendly! It gave off a great family vibe and we later asked and it is a family run business. The food was great and VERY reasonably priced. I had the combination plate of a flauta, enchilada, and tostada. My fiancé had the crab meat enchiladas. Everything was delicious! Next trip to NYC, we will be back!

We had a really fun night with great food at El Azteca. We were a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal and the frozen margaritas were the best I've ever had (a bit of a heavy pour that night though). I'd like to eat there again tomorrow!

This Mexican restaurant & bar is a lot of fun. They supply corn chips & Sala on arrival with standard good quality Mexican food with good value cocktails - including a huge combination known as a "bulldog". Staff are friendly, it is inexpensive and you will have a good time.amazing guacamole!

I love El Azteca because they have a great happy hour that goes until 8pm and good guacamole. However, my visit there this week was frustrating. For the first time, they wouldn't allow the happy hour at the tables but only at the bar but they didn't tell us that until the check came. On top of that they charged... More

My son and I stopped in. Very good Mexican food and great service. I had mole enchiladas, and they were better than I get in my city in California.

In New York for 4 nights and stumbled on this Mexican while looking for another one, a stroke of luck , a quiet Sunday night we were ushered in told to pick any table we would like, within a few minutes two cold tumblers of water and a large basket of tortillas with salsa left on table ( were not... Description
If you're looking for authentic Tex-Mex, look no further than El Azteca. We specialize in a variety of delicious dishes including burritos, enchiladas, chimicangas, tacos, chilie rellenos, and more. WE also serve up some of the best margaritas around. There are no artificial flavorings in our kitchen. All of our fruits and vegetables come from natural produce to create the most flavorful cocktails around. Additionally, our ingredients for the Azteca table salsa, Poblano Mole, and other homemade sauces are concocted through experience in culinary work and are completely unique to El Azteca. Serving Hell's Kitchen and the Theater District for over two decades, we have created a Mexican city within one of the greatest cities in the world, New York City. Our Mexican decor includes famous and anonymous recreations of Frida Kahlo paintings, Aztec calendars, and indigenous stone masks. Throughout our restaurant there are beautifully framed mirrors and mounted candle lights to create a mystical and intimate atmosphere. Your complete satisfaction is our top priority here at El Azteca. Our friendly and dedicated staff welcomes you into our cozy environment to enjoy a delicious Tex-Mex meal like no other you can find in the Big Apple. Come pull up a seat at our table, we've got your margarita waiting.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
