This is a beautiful restaurant that I rated it as poor, but not because of the quality of the food. The food is at least average although not "very good" by any standards. It is also pretty expensive (even by NYC standards) and I expect more from a restaurant that charges that much or portrays themselves as higher end. More... More

My husband and I stay at the Sofitel whenever we're in Manhattan. We were just there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was a Friday night and I walked in without a reservation and asked them if they could accommodate seven of us for dinner. They asked us to wait a couple of minutes and they found us a table.... First of all, the staff does not care much. Welcoming hostess but the rest of the staff does not give a damn as tips are included in the bill. Very French but not a great idea in North America. Very good coffe but disapointing croissants and bread. The management should go at Boulud Bistro next door to sample real croissants.

My wife and I were joined by several friends for a Sunday breakfast. The round table for the 5 of us was spacious. And, the window front location and very high ceiling made for a very airy effect. The staff is quite attentive and competent. At no point did we feel rushed. But, the staff always seemed to come around... More

Located in the Sofitel Hotel, we ate breakfast each day during our stay and had dinner, both in the restaurant and at the bar, where "lighter bites" are served. The food and service was good and service was attentive. For breakfast, the eggs florentine were really good, but Continental was probably the best value. At the bar do try their... More

It's a little pricey but we felt worth it. Wine was expensive but food good value for quality. Great steak special and lovely shrimp appetiser. How wonderful to have a cheese selection option for dessert. Won't be doing this level every night but it was a treat and a great location. Warm, welcoming and quiet yet so close to Time... More

We stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights, and ate the first evening in 'Gaby' the hotel's restaurant. We are very familiar with Sofitel hotels and the usual excellent quality of their upscale hotel restaurants. My wife ordered foie gras 'torchon' which was cold as in just out of the fridge. I ordered the steak 'rare', and emphasized to the... More

I enjoy the breakfast which is a mix of French continental and traditional American. You have French and American magazines, the staff is friendly .

A large lovely space inside the Sofitel, it has extensive, enjoyable and expensive breakfast menu served in luxury. Worth going for a business expense breakfast meeting in mid-town.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
