Besides the view and the courtesy of the waiters which are impeccable, the food is simply exquisite!! We have tasted the daily pre-fixed menu and were stunned by how good it was. A must location when in the city!

We dine here from time to time and each experience has been wonderful. It is a treat to enjoy a fine meal with a view looking out over Central Park.

What a wonderful experience! We knew that being located in Mandarin Oriental Hotel, it had to be a good restaurant, so we arrived with high expectations. Everything was so perfect and our expectations were exceeded. We had a wonderful table with amazing views to Central Park (we arrived just before sunset, perfect time). There are very flexible tasting menus, with... More

We were on honeymoon in New York and a meal at Asiate was a wedding gift from family. From the moment we were shown to a window seat we knew we were in for a treat. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Every course was superb with the wine being perfect every time. Highly recommend!!

The views are amazing. We had the set menu which was very good but very expensive. Portion sizes are very small, taster sizes, more like it. Service was very prompt but not friendly. Good experience but not a go back again for me.

made a reservation over a month before but was still unable to get seated to the window tables. we had a six o'clock first seating reservation but when we asked why we couldn't be seated in the window tables with the city views, we were told they were reserved. However, some of those tables were still vacant even as we... More

The views were great but I was not convinced with the food, portions were good and tasty but the menu should be better with more variety of food or choices of meat not only the few they had. Desserts were ok for the price and type of restaurant but I am giving 4 stars because of the view

We visited Asiate on Christmas Day having had a great meal and experience there in May on our last visit to NYC. This experience was unfortunately not to the same standard, and mainly due to the underwhelming staff that served us on the day. The view is amazing, food good but not great this time, wine list good but expensive... More

For the price it needs to be a LOT better. The food was in the main fairly tasty, though my main, the cod, was poor. The fish was overcooked and dry and the crust very over salted. Service however went downhill the further the evening went on. If you are trying to do fine dining, service is hugely important. Our... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
