Wonderful restaurant. Turkish Food at it's finest and very well priced place. We like the stuffed peppers and stuffed cabbage. Small restaurant and very casual, always tasty.

I have started to make this a regular spot for when I crave Turkish food. I live in the neighborhood and the service is always very friendly. The food is well-prepared and the traditional Turkish dishes are reliably good. I tried the lamb and eggplant stew and it was delicious, along with the bread they offered before and during the... We recently took a trip to Manhattan and ate at Taksim. What a fabulous treat. The food is lovingly prepared from scratch and you can taste the care taken in preparation. The choices are perfect for meat eaters and vegetarians. Not disappointed in anyway. The appetizer plate was made of hummus, grape leaves and several other wonderful treats. 1The pita... More

They had delicious lamb koftë and Lamb Adana. Their tabouli, hummus and baba ganoush were also delicious. Their pita were warm and clearly just out of the oven.

We were in Manhattan for the day and just happened by Taksim Square at lunch time. Service was very good and the food delicious and very fresh. We shared a mezze appetizer that had 7 different items, including hummus, baba ghanoush, tabouli, grape leaves, etc. Each one was tasty and the bread they served were warm rolls rather than the... This is a nice, small, family run restaurant specializing in Turkish food. The menu is expansive and covers the gamut of Turkish specialties. The food was well prepared, tasty, and nicely served. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was not full, so we had a pleasant, quiet evening. I have to say that I didn't think the... More

We have been coming to this neighborhood Turkish for years and have never had a bad meal. The food is always good and fresh --- and the menu is varied, from starters to mains. The space is small and always full. Highly recommend it for a simple, quick but different meal.

On a cold night, we ordered salmon and vegetables from Taksim, well reviewed by others. There were no veggies; the salmon was passable at best. Finished it because I was hungry. A one-off? I hope so, but am not trying the Taksim again.

We've moved into midtown and this place came recommended by neighbors. It was a good call. Great authentic flavors, deft touch with mussaka, loved the mezze plate, great tabouleh. Lamb shish kabob was about the best I've had in NYC. All my favorites. Bread is delivered warm and awesome. Wine selection is a little slim but the Turkish choices are... More

Because I don't eat four-legged animals, Turkish restaurants are not always a good choice for me - but in this case, all my friends wanted to go here so I go along. We did share food, though I couldn't eat most of what they ordered. I ordered a green salad without bell peppers (severe anaphylaxis) which was tasty enough but... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
