Went for Sunday brunch. The service was great. The food above average. The hummus appetizer was outstanding. It pains me when I want a refill on coffee and it is another charge. Who only wants one small cup of coffee?

Hard to go wrong at the wonderful Cafe Orlin (except if you get there too late) - food's high quality, great value for money, helpful staff and good (not great) coffee. Enjoy.

Third or fourth time here for breakfast. Had the Tunisian plate: eggs properly poached, Tunisian tomato-based sauce was very tasty, potatoes well cooked and the coffee was excellent. Service was very efficient and pleasant. Great vibe here, worth a visit (or 5)...

Our son took us to Cafe Orlin and we loved it! It's a quaint little place with a lot of energy. The food was fresh and excellent. The pumpkin pancakes were amazing!! Our server, Kat, was friendly and very attentive. Can't wait to try this place again!

We have found this place on Google and it is amazing. I had the breakfast special, eggs, potatoes and bread, everything was perfectly cooked, that cappuccino was really good, and I'm Italian, my expectations on coffee related stuff is pretty high! My friends had pancakes and they were really as good as they looks. Super suggested for a good breakfast!... More

Great brunch place! Pretty good prices, nice options, great smoked salmon, good outdoor space. Exactly what you would expect from a good brunch place in this area.

Good pasta, the hummus appetizer was great, just wish we had more stuff to scoop up the hummus. Service was perfect.

The service was fine but the haloumi on my salad was rubbery and cool, and the zata'ar on the pita had no flavor at all, it was just dusty/gritty. Disappointing. Guess we should have known something was up when the place was only half full on a Friday night... caveat eater 😉.

Five of us had dinner at Cafe Orlin on a Monday evening and it was lovely. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but on a chilly October evening we opted for indoors, which was very comfortable. Everyone enjoyed their meals, especially the two vegetarians in our group. We started with splitting a Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad. Excellent! The veggie... More

What a great find! My friend and I found this gem while roaming the neighbourhood one morning on vacation. Great location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Waitress was super fantastic and very helpful with directions Menu had a variety of healthy options. Food was hot and tasty, very fresh. A wonderful New York cafe.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
