I truly wanted to give B&H Dairy 5 stars, but on my first visit, they merited only 3. I grew up going to Ratner's on Delancey Street from the 1950s until they closed. I have been dreaming of Ratner's vegetable cutlets with mushroom sauce and...More

About a year ago, we almost lost this treasure due to a tragic gas explosion a few doors away. I was not the only one praying it would reopen. Those of us who love its straightforward setting, its marvelously tasty food and the lovely folks...More

Nothing I love more than a little hole in the wall with a great atmosphere and delish food. Lots of regulars. I just wish it was in my neighborhood--I'd be one too!

Was visting NYC and went with a friend to this hole in the wall spot that is over 75 years old. We were looking forward to having good Jewish dairy food. Really a mixed bag. OK barley soup and fairly good matzo ball soup. Platters...More

One of the remaining authentic east village places. Survived the explosion down the block. Great food and great people in an old style atmosphere.

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
