Menu a little hit and miss. Had breakfast pastry and fruit salad (great), chicken satay (really good), the meat mince dish (cold in middle from reheating in microwave). Not good tea here- water from urn not fresh boiled kettle (and expensive at $5.24 plus tip!)...More

I stayed at the Jane in May and ate at Cafe Gitane almost every day. I was happy to see they were open until midnight, so I could often grab a quick bite before heading up to my room. The food was good, and service...More

Loved the cafe room and the lobby of the Jane Hotel. So glad so much of the original features have been retained. Breakfast was good though expensive. Not at all crowded at Sunday brunch time, we just walked in. Even if you don't eat, peek...More

Stayed at the hotel 7 nights and decided to have breakfast here one morning. Staff was on the border of un-friendly and rather ignorant and the menue was sort of hard to understand (had to use google translate on some stuff). Coffee was ok though...More

We had breakfast here and it was nice. Service was friendly. Meals took a while to arrive and coffee was a bit on the bitter side but overall was decent but perhaps a bit on the expensive side. Overall average but definitely acceptable. Really handy...More

I had heard so many good things about this place that I decided to check it out after a long walk from Battery Park to the Whitney Museum. At first glance I didn't notice that the actual café is inside a hotel and the staff...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
