My hotel provided vouchers for this place. Thoroughly uninspiring menu. Food not dangerous but also nothing to look forward to. Service was ok. A glass of milk for a kid was $4!!! Not cheap. There must be better places to eat than this.

Breakfast here was included in our stay at Hotel 32 32. We expected to be able to get a bagel or something small since it was free but were pleasantly surprised that we were able to get large, freshly prepared, hot meals that were an awesome way to start our day!

We visited NYC over a long weekend. Captain's Cafe is on the small side and requires an adjustment of personal space. But then, much of NYC feels that way to me. However, once I got past the narrow aisle space, my family and I were happy to eat breakfast here several times. The portions are good-sized and well-priced. Have a... More

This came recommended as a place where the locals eat and it was correct Not far from the roger hotel on 31st we found this on 32nd Typical american cuisine. Pancakes with maple syrup. Eggs fried or scrambled anyway you choose. Huge portions and friendly staff. Frequented by lorry drivers and locals. It was for me an English tourist just... More

Passing by early on the way cross town, decided to get some breakfast and came upon Captain. Nothing fancy and skeptical, we ordered. Very friendly staff, very attentive. Their were many coming in to get food to go. The food was great and plentiful. The prices were incredibly reasonable. It looked good for dinner or lunch as well? Clean.

Was good for breakfast at the week end when quiet. Seating is restrictive and really only for couples we had to send one breakfast back but they replaced it.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
