Bagels are good for everyone (except those with celiac's disease - sorry folks). Topped with some lox cream cheese and you're good to go! They are quick which is good for hungry folks on a busy Sunday morning. I was in the mood for some lox on a bagel and they more than delivered. I don't typically like when places... More

These are the best bagels east of Siegel's in Vancouver BC. Same location as the former, equally good Ess-a-Bagel near Stuyvesant Town.

Be specific. Scooped out, butter and tomato. Onion too. The customers know. The guys behind the counter know. This is the center of the universe.

I love their cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese and I always buy their pickled herring to go when I'm there. However, I do have to find a happier place to have my bagel on the Sunday mornings that I'm home in New York. It's just an intimidating place with the staff seemingly unhappy with their job.

Hard to find a pure "appetizing" store these days, but Tal Bagels is it. Excellent bagels of all types, with top-quality smoked salmon, sable, et al. Generally good spreads and if you are partial to egg salad -- as I am -- theirs is outstanding. Good bialys and lots of baked goods. Eat in, take out or get delivered. Lucky... More

Avoid this place... go wait in line at essabagel. Stopped by for a Sunday bagel... they don't have eggs, only cold cuts and spreads. The thing that's horrible is the staff. They have such a bad attitude, don't listen to you when you order, make you repeat "toasted bagel with cream cheese" three times and look unsure as to why... More

They deliver and quickly. This is ideal for unexpected guests or expected guests. It is so easy to call them up and order smoked salmon, tuna salad, all kinds of cream cheese and many deli items. Their bagels are delicious and so are the Bialys. Add some potato salad and coleslaw and you're all set. Their chocolate Babka is not... More

Bagels are just ok, but workers are nasty, rude, and discourteous. Bathroom, as another reviewer stated, is filthy.

Their Lox spread is delicious, their olive and jalapeño cream cheeses are both delicious. Bagels are fresh, love the diversity of flavors.

We have eaten the garlic bagel with cream cheese, olive cheese and lox spread. The three of these options were very tasty. We have also tried the Mac salad which was not really nice. Shrimps salad was almost tasteless, but the honey mustard chicken salad was great. The prices were reasonable considering the fact that all bagels are generously served.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
