I had dinner at Nobu (Tribeca) during a recent trip to NYC. There were 6 of us. I live on the west coast and have unusual access to some really high quality fish, sushi. It's something my family and I eat a lot of. I found Nobu to have reasonable quality sushi/sashimi as well as some other interesting choices in... More

We tried the chef's tasting menu and it defeated us. I expected small portions and of course being mostly fresh fish did not expect it to be so filling, but around six courses in we had to admit defeat. We did so with sadness, as every course had been unique and utterly delicious. I will return to do battle once... More

Was looking forward to dining here for my 40th birthday. Saturday night- so of course it was busy. There are more people at the door waiting to check you in - which weirded me out. Waiter made us feel like we were wasting his time. Left without birthday dessert because they never brought it out, yet it was specified at... More

This is my favorite fancy sushi place! Their sushi rolls are always tasty with so many vibrant flavors. Their spicy chirashi and their Saki is one of my favorites especially. You can tell how fresh their sushi is just by the sweet flavor of it all. The servers and chefs are all very attentive and always give you the best... More

Had it not been my sister's 40th birthday, I might have made a bigger deal of the standard food which we had that night. It was simply a bit of an average evening. And spending $40 on some tempura which wasn't light and fluffy-crisp was a bit of a travesty. A final check of over $400 for two and I... More

I was apprehensive about visiting Nobu, I must admit. I'd seen it on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, heard people bragging about it in meetings, and assumed it would be one of those overrated, overpriced restaurants where you'll find business men in suits, with no clue how much a apple tart would cost. I couldn't be more wrong however and... More

Nobu is most certainly an upscale restaurant with an upscale clientele. It has a very nondescript entrance - those who know Nobu don't need to ask where the door is. As soon as you walk in you are surrounded by luxury - gorgeous fabrics, plush seating, fine leather. The Maitre D will greet you personally and escort you promptly to... More

Ok, I'lll start by saying that it is possible that I enjoy eating too much. We are not yet lucky enough to have our own Nobu in montreal, so whenever I visit somewhere that has a Nobu, I make it a point to reserve a table! We started with the sashimi salad. It was so lovely. The dressing is beautiful... More

Not our first visit, nor will it be the last. We got the Omakase (chef's choice), and every single course was fantastic. The restaurant was packed but they were still able to give great service.

I had the worst experience ever here. I don't live in New York but was here visiting. I want my experiences to be enjoyable and not disappointing. The minute we got to Robu, we were not greeted nicely. Took forever to get seated. When we finally got seated, the server was short with us and seemed distracted. The service was... More

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
