This is one of the great pizza restaurants in the US. The margarita pizza is classic, made fresh, and just amazing. The building looks to be in an old church and has a lot of character. Great place to go with large or small groups. Try the spinach salad!

Great experiences at this establishment. Warm atmosphere. Great pizza! Only downside, if you order some type of soda, no free refills. Overall, great food!!!

This was recommended to us by a friend and so glad we went here. From the outside it looks nothing but when you enter, it's amazing, it's in an old church building and has high ceilings and the atmosphere is fab. Plus the Pizza was to die for, just lovely. Enjoy

Convenient location, no reservations needed and large restaurant inside an old abandoned church with lots of character. The salads are immense – I ordered the spinach salad and it literally could serve a family of 4. The calamari and clams linguini were okay, but next time I’ll stick to the pizza

Loved the story behind this pizza place - an old church turned into a restaurant when the area wasn't doing well. It was fun watching them make pizza and the pizza was amazing! It was worth the wait!

Dinner for 3 while in NYC after friends recommended. They do not take reservations but wait was only 20 minutes. Service was great! Salad and pizza were really good and reasonably priced at 35.00 for 3 and we all left satisfied. Will visit again on our next trip!

Surprising atmosphere. Looks like an ordinary pizza spot from the street. Noted for their pizza. It was shared with friends and was very good. The big surprise was the delicious ravioli. We enjoyed the sangria. It was drinkable but unremarkable. A friend had a pomegranate martini prepared just perfectly. worth the trip. The ceiling and windows of this old church... More

My friend and I ate here on a girl's/senior trip (with her daughter and her daughter's friend) late on our first night in NYC. It was the perfect place to start our trip. It's located 1/2 way down a side street off Times Square. We walked there and back from our Times Square hotel and felt completely safe. We were... More

John's has awesome pizza. We had the basil and fresh tomato small traditional. It was perfect for two hungry people. We also had a salad added to that the second time we went. We shared the salad. It was pretty big. It is very loud in there and not a ton of light. It wasn't a problem since we were... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
