We have been coming to this restaurant for years with family and friends, and never visit New York without having lunch or dinner at Porto Bello. The food is delicious, the wines excellent, prices are good, the service courteous, and the atmosphere in the restaurant...More

After a day of shopping in the rain, we saw this quaint and inviting restaurant. They made room for the 4 of us, and we had a super meal. My pasta with tomato and zucchini was great. The cannelloni was as well. Even though the...More

We went to Porto Bello via a recommendation from our concierge. The space is tiny but the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. We had the sausage and peppers capellini and the cheese cannelloni. The sauce was light and wonderful! The hot sausage was a tiny...More

Made a reservation. Got there and place was packed. Very small place and we stood at the front until people left and we sat down. The woman -owner?-offered us drinks while we waited which was a very nice touch. As we waited the waiters were...More

This is one of Greenwich Village's abiding landmarks. Food is always good, service personable. Seating near the window allows you to enjoy the parade of neighborhood life. Pastas are especially recommended.

We went here because I had a Restaurant.com gift certificate, and it looked interesting. It was a few blocks further from the subway stop than I thought, but not a long hike. A cozy, quiet, pleasant place, and pretty small. The food was wonderful, and...More

A place I would expect to be clinging to the edge of little Italy instead of Thompson st. A full bar without a knowledgeable bartender. Relaxed Italian service without full robust Italian flavors. An okay meal. Not bad. Not great. Nothing special or memorable.

Food has been traditionally good and reasonably priced. Waiters not the happiest but who cares if the food is good. Small but nice ambiance. I think you will enjoy its traditional Italian cuisine.

Stopped by for dinner with my son. The place was empty as 6PM, which I found odd; but we headed in for an Italian meal. The bread brought to the table was stale; the entrees were extremely salty, and flavorless. It seems like this place...More

...at moderate prices. My veal with mushrooms was not so exiting but OK. Quite good tiramisu. Wine by the glass in generous quantity. Correct service by two Italian (I presume) older men.

Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was
here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter
culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for
its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to
get a feel for this diverse and energetic
neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street
performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the
fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess.
