Dining at Park Avenue Winter (Spring, Summer or Fall) is always a treat. Yes, the restaurant is expensive but the experience is worth it. Their food is delicate and delicious and the atmosphere can't be beat. It's a very nice special occasion venue.

We had a lovely Valentine's Day meal. We sat in the bar/bistro area in a little corner banquette. While it wasn't as pretty as the main dining room, it served the same delicious menu and offered attentive, but not overly solicitous, service. (The soundproofing was also very good.) The "winter" menu wasn't too heavy. Even though a lot of the... More

Beautiful restaurant with lovely decor in shades of winter white, however, VERY LOUD and thus not suitable for conversing with others in my 7 person group. Friendly and accommodating staff. Despite the large Valentines Day crowd, the service time was very reasonable and the food reached the table at an appropriate temperature. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the... More

We enjoyed a truly wonderful meal here with great service as well a wonderful food in an attractive atmosphere. We were drawn in by a dish on the menu. Broccoli covered by Cheetos. Please don't let that turn you away! It was actually tasty, and our inquiring minds were satisfied. The restaurant changes their menu (and decor) with the seasons,... More

Stopped at this restaurant for dinner while on a long weekend excursion. My lovely girlfriend has made the reservation having been here in the past. The decor was lovely, our table situated next to another couple's who we engaged in lively conversation (after some time together, just the 2 of us, of course). We started with a cocktail and later,... More

Friends took me here for Christmas Dinner and it was perfect. The drinks were amazing to start and the service was impeccable. The food was insanely good. I had the steak which was done perfectly, but the cheesy roasted broccoli was to die for. It was so smoky and cheesy it was literally the best broccoli dish I have ever... More

We scooted in here late on a Friday for cocktails and were not disappointed. I had the 'Fezziwig', and my friends each tried a different fancy cocktail on the menu of specials. There was only one dog in the bunch - a strange, smoky concoction called 'Yellow Snow'. Well, you know what they say about yellow snow... Other than that,... More

My first visit, the food was fine, but the noise was outrageous. The table service was attentive -- the hostesses rude. There was nothing particularly special about this restaurant and, in NYC, that matters because there are endless other choices! We went for Restaurant Week and they are generous in the number of menu selections...it wouldn't be my choice to... More

Visiting from out of town, we made reservations for 9p on a Tuesday. We did not realize that we had made reservations for the 'dinner party' and we couldn't be happier with our mistake! We had a greeting glass of champagne and a beautiful plate of hors d'oeuvres. The tables on either side of us asked what we had ordered...... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
