Pleasant and reasonably attentive waitstaff. Seated in the corner which was nice for a couple. Arrived at 4:45 with crowd building by 5:15. Open table reservation. Strip steak medium rare was thin-ish, medium instead of medium rare and great French fries. My wife had delicious scallops and small portion of Brussel sprouts. Dessert: warm apple crumble pie. So so. Service... More

Joe Allens is one of NYC more famous landmarks when it comes to restaurants. It is located on restaurant row, down the steps under a green awning. Don't try to get in for lunch or dinner without a reservation unless you want to try your luck getting a seat at the bar which is also generally full. The menu is... More

Enjoyed a wonderful meal after seeing a Broadway show. We were able to get a table without a reservation and even though they were busy it did not show in their service. We were immediately offered beverages and a fresh pot of coffee was brewed for my husband. The scallops were pan seared perfectly. The waitress was also kind enough... More

The people here were so friendly and helpful. We came here a couple of years ago because the restaurant we loved to go to had closed. They were able to fit our party of seven in at the last minute and we really loved the food, especially the red wine reduction served with the steak. I came back last month... More

As the title says. Service was good and everybody were nice and friendly and polite. Nice people. But the stake I ordered was just average. Nothing really special, nothing much wrong. Included insane amount of fries though. :D

We had a disappointing, rushed, unappetizing meal. There was nothing special about the food and I would say the meal was not at all tasty. The service was fair and the front entrance people are a bit arrogant. I would not go back.

I've passed Joe Allen's by for many years - not sure why but I won't any longer. I always thought it was just run of the mill. Not so. The cuisine is standard American - meat an potatoes - with a couple of exceptions. I ordered the escargot and the liver. Both were superb. The escargot was as good as... More

We always visit when in NYC and order the steak tartar. It never disappoints. We had a 10:30 pm reservation for 5 and the place was packed. They booked it for the following week but quickly found a table to accommodate us. Crab and Lobster roll was a hit as was the chicken sandwich. Waitress was excellent. Will return on... More

We enjoyed our supper here. Very good burger and chicken sandwich. Nice room and ambience even though quite quiet when we were there. House red was pretty ropey and couldn't finish it, which is very rare....

Mostly I love the atmosphere and the history of this place. All posters on the wall. Staff is courteous. Dishes are good. A friend brought me there and we spent a beautiful night. It is a place well

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
