Wonderful tasting menu at a superb Michelin *** restaurant. We didn't have a single 'bad' dish and the wine pairings were beautiful. The only small negative was that the sommelier did not go into much detail about the wines, we were told the name and where they were from but did not describe to us the types of things we... More

My friend and I were lucky enough to dine at the well renowned Eleven Madison Park during our stay in Nyc. We were visiting from Australia and had been looking forward to it for months. The 10-12 course tasting menu was truly spectacular. It was creative, but still accessible to most palettes I would think. The food was of course... More

Top three in Manhattan.... (in my opinion, Bernardin, Eleven Madison and Per Se) And very high when listing the worlds top tables. This is the third time visiting this restaurant, this time for lunch.... Room is beautiful, service is outstanding. Prices are a bit hilarious, but for the one time a year or once in a lifetime experience, I would... More

I was on business trip in NY in September and had booked ahead to dine at one of the top 5 restaurants across the globe, in Eleven Madison Park. The dinning experience was truly average, and that is average in comparison to most regular establishments. This was no where near the league of fine dinning restaurants that one would expect.... We had the tasting menu with the classic wine pairing. Everything was superb, but if I had to pick some highlights, the caviar course was truly amazing and the wine pairings were the best that I have ever had. It is very expensive but it was so delicious and so much care and attention went into every course that I... More

Being Swiss we wanted to visit this restaurant since a while - finally we were able to book a table and all was just great. We arrived at 10PM - yes, thats a bit late and we were getting hungry. Table was not just ready - we had to wait drinking champagne offered by the house for like 5 minutes.... More

We arrive and the place was clearly empty... the hostess refused to welcome us even if our friends make a appointment with us in that place.. BAD experience and never again.

I am in the service industry myself (I own a dive shop). I was looking forward to experience world class service with world class food and world class drinks. My expectations were high. And EMP managed to exceed my expectations in a big way! What a night. Perfection is hard to deliver but they did it. Service as attentive as... More

I decided to dine here on Thanksgiving as it was the only day I could obtain online reservations. My first desire to come here was for the impressive physical space--the soaring ceilings and the Art Deco glamour are breathtaking. The views into the park are charming. I am glad I was able to witness the scenery and interior lighting change... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
