We used to be there every time we went to New York. This last time was bad and expensive. I don't know if they change administration but we'll never return

The decor is really nice. If you are visiting in summer try and get seat more towards front since the glass roof in back can make it a bit tough from a heat perspective. The food is very good. We had the melon and prosciutto...More

I attended a cocktail party with appetizers. Excellent wine choices. Servers were very pleasant. Appetizers were wonderful - italian meats, delicious aranciata, eggplant, bruschetta.

One of my general rules is never to dine at a place with too many open tables. However, we had walked quite a bit and just needed a place to sit and have a bite to eat. Food wasn't bad, but not great... and wine...More

Description
Barbalu is the marriage (literally) of husband and wife team Stefano BARBAgallo and Adriana LUque. Their Italian restaurant is open just a stones throw from the South Street Seaport. The couple prove their continued commitment to this historic district with the decision to rebuild in the same location as their old restaurant Barbarini, which was completely destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.
