This was our second time to Via Della Pace, and we weren't disappointing. We visited for my Dad's 60th birthday and had a wonderful evening. Highly recommend the Buratta...you can't go wrong with either of their options. The food, service and atmosphere is excellent. Don't forget cash.

We ate here in October and were warmly welcomed, despite not speaking Italian!. Everything we ate was excellent - seared tuna and avacado on toasted ciabatta, chicken and mushrooms and beef stew with polenta. Overall a nice evening out. Worth a visit.

Spurred on by all the rave reviews on Trip Advisor (great food, great prices), we gave this place in the East Village a try. In almost 30 years of coming to Manhattan this may have been the worst dining experience of them all. Yes, the prices ($23 for steak, $18 for pasta) were good. But the food and the service... More

Do not miss this charming restaurant in the East Village. Intimate and cozy but with great sophistication. The service is warm and friendly. The food is great. Ate here when we took our older son to college at NYU. Was an easy walk to campus. Delicious food and a friendly atmosphere. Thrilled to find this great place. Look to make it a tradition when we visit.

Very authentic experience with all Italian-speaking waiters and waitresses and simply amazing food! Great wine and legendary risotto. Went there two days in a row - didn't regret it!

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
