So many places to eat in NYC but we always gravitate here when we are in the city for a show because its location is great for so many of the theaters. Food is always good, good service & great wine list.

We went for an early pre-theater dinner and celebrated my husband's birthday. The place is lovely, and the menu was great. We had the tasting of the 3 Shellfish cocktails (shrimp, crab, lobster) and it was fabulous! The sweet potato gratin was out of this world, and we also loved the Brussels sprouts. My steak was perfect, and my daughter... More

Nice upscale vibe and good service. Caesar salad had a great flavor. The Cioppino was very good, but did not have the same base as I've had at several other Flay restaurants, which is my absolute favorite dish anywhere.

Our first (and last) visit to Bar Americain could have been a delicious experience except the chef over-salted much of the meal. My pork chop was cooked perfectly and was very tender; but, was excessively salty. The french onion soup was also inedible and my husbands duck was over-salted. Meanwhile the sweet potatoes and dirty spelt were delicious. The corn... More

Love this restaurant and always go there when I go to NYC. Beautiful art deco interior, just the right lighting, cozy, comfortable, nicely spaced tables, even when busy it is not overly noisy and conversation is easy. The food is always excellent and well prepared. We shared a perfectly dressed garden salad (be mindful that their salads can be shared,... More

We have made Bar Americain a new family tradition for celebrating the New Year and it was fantastic yet again. The food and presentation were excellent with a variety of delicious options. Our server Emily was extremely attentive and truly delivered the Bar Americain standard. We have had the pleasure of dining at many of Bobby Flay's restaurants and like... More

Having dined in various settings, from fairly low quality hotels to some of the best fine dining restaurants in the world, this restaurant was somewhere in the middle. The food was good, and - given that it's in Manhattan - the prices were reasonable. I wasn't blown away by the meal, but it was vastly superior to many of the... More

Disappointed a bit to say the least just because you expect a little bit more from a Bobby Flay restaurant but it ended up being just average and mediocre. Dining room had a feeling like a cafeteria, it was loud and tables very close to each other.... Food was mediocre at best and a bit overpriced.

The restaurant: very clean, nice size (two story) dining space. very cozy atmosphere. The seating space (per person, couple or group) was small but the restaurant seating space was maximize to the fullest without it feeling crowded. The only downside that I could see was if you are seating in a booth as my sister and I were if another... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
