Great place! We met friends for dinner and were surprised to find a Jean Georges restaurant that is pretty reasonably priced. The food was excellent with creative presentations and lots of flavors. Many of their dishes are spicy, but they were extremely accommodating for two of our party who do not tolerate spice well - the spicy bits were served... More

Excellent food, very attractive presentation. Modern decor but not cold. Actually, it is a friendly place. We went back for lunch in August and found it to be a very busy place then and just as wonderful.

Very good food and great service. Went for restaurant week and still spent more than $120 per person but worth it

Everything about this place is perfect. The food was to die for and the service was impeccable. The tuna appetizer was the single best dish I have ever had. While not cheap or even moderate in price, the value for what you are getting is absolutely worth it. It truly is one of the more special meals you can have... More

Food was excellent. We were a table of 8 and they put us in a corner booth and all the service came from behind which was strange and not ideal. We would have preferred a straight table sitting across from one another. Service was decent considering the circumstances. The chef should be commended as the food was excellent but you... More

This décor, service and food here are excellent and it's far off the beaten track that you don't have large groups of shrieking people. Love the elegant modernist décor and every dish on the menu is well-executed. Am a particular fan of the steak tartare. Love the fact that they also are open for brunch.

I have been raving about this restaurant to everyone, because next to the impeccable cuisine and rather good "american" service, it's also one of the few restaurants which isn't drowned in noise of music and waiting patrons, until now.... Despite it even being listed on a web site as one of the more quiet restaurants (to New York standards), they... More

We celebrated an anniversary with dinner at Perry Street and totally enjoyed every aspect of our meal. It started with a amuse Bouche of onion soup and then we shared a grilled octopus as an appetizer. The octopus was perfectly cooked and wonderfully spiced. The appetizer size is perfect to share too. We then had Halibut in broth and the... More

Have been wanting to try but a bit out of way. So glad we made it! A group of 6 --we had a very comfortable booth. It is spacious and you can hear each other so we loved atmosphere. Food awesome. Amazing artichoke app, octopus delucious. Mushroom app amazing, beef tenderloin and Brussels sprouts fabulous. Great service too--its a keeper

Host was kind and warm. Our drinks that we ordered at the bar took a very long t me. Most times the server came over it was at that moment when he had forgotten to take our order, bring out drinks, ask for dessert, etc. We appreciated that he acknowledged the digression in service. Ownership goes a long way in... More

Description
Perry St has reopened! Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times. Located in the spectacular Richard Meier Towers, the restaurant offers beautiful waterfront views of the Hudson River. The stunning dining room was designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, whose Danish background lends a mid-century modern design sensibility. Jean-Georges' son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square. The perfect restaurant for special events and group dining.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
