A friend recommended this restaurant to me. Every dish were delicious. We started with the mozzarella with agrumes and the octopus. Both appetizers were greatly executed and tasty. Then the beef and the lamb, again amazing. We finished with the chocolate fondant, really good as well. One of the best restaurant I've been in NYC since I arrived a year... More

I attended a wedding dinner at this restaurant and it was a perfect space for family and friends to gather and celebrate the wedding couple. The service and food was exceptional. The food choices were interesting and creative and the wine paring was outstanding.

Very thing was just excellent. The poached lobster is a must try. The calamari with Yuzi is very interesting. Carrot cake is a great choice for dessert.

We attended New York magazine's New York Taste earlier this month, where 50 restaurants offered a taste from their menu. Perry Street offered a ravioli made with duck and a bit of charred foie gras -- very nicely balanced flavors with a very thin pasta covering. Cedric Vongerichten is the Executive Chef at Perry St Restaurant. In 2010, he was... More

This was our second visit to Perry St., the last having taken place around two years ago. Some things have changed and some have remained the same. First, what's the same. The food continues to be excellent, with a range of interesting and delicious dishes for both appetizers and mains. The wine list is also quite interesting, albeit deficient in... More

Our concierge recommended Perry St as a great choice for a special anniversary dinner. He was exactly right. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We each ordered a cocktail -- he a scotch and me a special house recipe bellini, both great. We each had the Chef's tasting menu and were not disappointed. The courses were well... More

Not sure why Jean-Georges Vongerichten chose to stick his name to this restaurant; sure enough we all care about our children and wish them well, but not to to the degree of compromising one's reputation and brand. We opted for a Perry St Tasting Menu, which features 5 courses including dessert but not including the amuse-bouche. The only good part... More

Our visit a week ago was at least our fifth visit to Perry Street, and we enjoy it a little more each time we go. The ambiance is lovely, sleek, elegant, and minimalist with a good amount of room between tables, a luxury unfortunately not always provided at New York restaurants even at this price level. The food is spectacular.... More

This Jean-Georges West Village gem aptly describes its ambience as "relaxed elegance." We arrived on Sunday, just as the restaurant was opening, intending to have a pre-dinner drink. Our bartender, Derrick, was friendly and warm, engaging us in easy conversation. We tried two of the specialty cocktails, both of which were expertly mixed and presented. Dinner was beautifully prepared and... More

This place is hard to find but the food is worth it. A starkish little room with lots of light, our party of six was well taken care of. The food in this place is superb. Appetizers, main courses, desserts, all beautifully prepared with wonderful flavors and a terrific presentation. New York prices (medium to high) served at a moderate... More

Description
Perry St has reopened! Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times. Located in the spectacular Richard Meier Towers, the restaurant offers beautiful waterfront views of the Hudson River. The stunning dining room was designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, whose Danish background lends a mid-century modern design sensibility. Jean-Georges' son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square. The perfect restaurant for special events and group dining.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
